Coffee Dripper: a café to rest with kids near Gangmun Beach
Coffee Dripper is a café about a 7-minute drive from Gangmun Beach in Gangneung. We came on a Gangneung trip, played hard with our kid at the beach, and wanted a break. The café is really pretty, and it's a great place to visit with a child or a dog.

Where is Coffee Dripper? Location, hours and parking
Coffee Dripper is at 229-4 Nanseolheon-ro, Gangneung-si, Gangwon (1st floor). It's open daily 10:00–18:00 and closed every Tuesday. You can park in front of the café.
Sitting between the Heo Gyun & Heo Nanseolheon Memorial Park and Gangmun Beach, the location is so good that lots of people come.

Coffee Dripper's atmosphere, seating and parking lot
Coffee Dripper is decorated with dark wood and lots of plants, and it's really pretty. Parking is roomy, with space for about 10–13 cars, and there are seats inside, on the terrace and outdoors, so you don't have to worry about parking or space.

Hermès and Dior stone bag sculptures on the outdoor seats
There's an outdoor area where you can eat, and the stone bags there made me laugh, hahaha. They stuck logos like Hermès and Dior on rocks. The owner seems like a fun person.

Is the restroom at Coffee Dripper kid-friendly?
Lately our kid refuses to use dirty restrooms, but the restroom at Coffee Dripper is pretty too. What a relief, haha.

What we ordered at Coffee Dripper and menu prices
- Iced Americano ₩5,500
- Sunset Lemonade ₩7,000
- Milk soft serve ₩7,000
- Salty caramel financier ₩3,500
- Salt vanilla financier ₩3,500

I think Coffee Dripper originally had other baked goods besides financiers, but when we visited around 2 pm on a weekend, this was all that was left. :(

Here's what we ordered. It looked so pretty the moment it arrived that it put me in a good mood. We ordered the ice cream for our kid.

What does Coffee Dripper's Sunset Lemonade taste like?
Coffee Dripper's Sunset Lemonade (₩7,000) is a drink where you pour in a red liquid and the lemonade looks like a sunset. It's gorgeous, and one sip is so refreshing it makes you wink. (Suddenly I can't remember the name...)
I also squeezed the lemon inside, and a sip is really zesty. We'd had seafood for lunch, and the Sunset Lemonade wiped away the fishiness completely.

Iced Americano with coffee ice cubes
Coffee Dripper's iced Americano (₩5,500) has coffee cubes tucked in among the ice. It's a coffee-focused café, so the iced Americano was good too, but I got a surprise partway through, haha. I thought it was all ice, but there are coffee cubes in between!!
I knew cubes are usually put in iced lattes because melting ice waters down the milk, so I was amazed that the owner did it for an Americano too. Honestly I almost didn't notice until I finished, but my husband caught it.

Salted caramel vs. salt vanilla financier
We ordered two Coffee Dripper financiers (small French almond cakes), salty caramel and salt vanilla, at ₩3,500 each. I wanted to try the other baked goods too, but we went at 2 pm and everything was sold out... so I hurriedly grabbed the financiers that were left. The darker one is the salty caramel financier, and the slightly paler one is the vanilla.

They're super soft. It's hard to pick a favorite, but personally I say the slightly richer caramel wins! Financiers and an iced Americano are naturally a good pairing, and if you top them with the ice cream we ordered, the sweetness doubles.

Milk soft serve ice cream for kids
Coffee Dripper's soft serve comes in milk and coffee flavors, and it seems most people order the coffee one. We ordered it for our kid, so we chose milk.
But it was far better than ordinary soft serve. It's incredibly milky. It comes with little fruit pieces, pineapple? fruit cocktail? something like that, and eating them together is refreshing.

Honestly we barely got any, since our kid was polishing it off in one go. It may not look like much, but the cup is deep, so there's more than you'd think. At first ₩7,000 felt a bit pricey, but for a kid who patiently waits while mom and dad drink coffee, anything goes.

If you're on a Gangneung trip looking for a pretty café, I recommend Coffee Dripper near Gangmun Beach :)
