Fresh ingredients, a generous set, and a big portion. It's perfect for a regular meal or a special day. Let's get straight into the Premium Sushi Set review, GO!

Sushi Doku The Songdo: location, hours and parking

Sushi Doku The Songdo is on the 2nd floor of Honesta Mall at 157 Songdogukje-daero, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, a 1-minute walk from Exit 2 of Tekeunopakeu Station. It's open daily from 11:00 to 21:00, with break time from 14:30 to 17:00 and last order at 20:15.

Is there a wait at 5pm, right after break time ends?

Even when we arrived right as the 5pm break time ended, quite a few people were already waiting. We came after a date in Songhyeona, timed it for 5pm, and there were already plenty of guests ahead of us!

What's on the menu at Sushi Doku The Songdo?

The signature menus are the Standard Sushi Set, the Premium Sushi Set and the Special Sushi Set, and there's a separate kids' set too. Everything looked so good, sorry... (gomen) Since it was our first visit, I ordered the popular Premium Sushi Set, done! With a kids' set available, it also looks great for a family meal.

What comes with the ₩25,900 Premium Sushi Set?

The Premium Sushi Set comes with 10 pieces of sushi plus udon, salad, tempura and chawanmushi (steamed egg custard). It's not just sushi, so the set was really packed.

The set has 10 pieces in total: flounder, red sea bream, salmon, squid, sweet shrimp, lean tuna, red shrimp, red snow crab, eel and monkfish liver (ankimo)! The staff told us it tastes best if you start with the white fish on the right and finish with the salmon at the end.

With salad, chawanmushi, tempura and udon all included, it's a pretty great deal for the price ꔛ

A new soy sauce brush every time: hygiene at Sushi Doku

For brushing on soy sauce, they don't keep reusing a brush left on the table; a fresh one is set out separately. Since it isn't reused, I loved how hygienic it was ꔛ

How was the sushi? Thick salmon and melt-in-your-mouth tuna

The salmon was especially big and thick, and the tuna melted in my mouth. The sushi looked so good that I couldn't help photographing every single piece!! That salmon size, what is going on... The pieces were thick, so the texture was amazing. Ankimo and sea urchin (uni) were piled on generously, which I loved. The tuna melted in my mouth and I fainted, then the portion was so big I fainted again, haha. I'm still full...

Is Sushi Doku The Songdo worth another date night?

I was happy with the taste, the set, the atmosphere and the service, so I'd definitely come back to this Songdo sushi restaurant. I found it while searching for good food in Incheon's Songdo, and I immediately understood why it's famous. Every piece of sushi was fresh, the set was generous and the portion big ☻ It's quiet and private, so it was great for a date, and it's a Songdo sushi spot you'll be satisfied with after one visit 🍣🧡

The seats are slightly separated from one another, so the whole place feels private, which made it great for a date. The restaurant itself is upscale and fairly quiet, so I was comfortable the whole meal, haha.

You can really feel how fresh each piece of sushi is, and I loved that chewy raw-fish texture. The salmon was thick with a proper bite, and the tuna melted right away, wow... It also had things like ankimo and uni that are hard to come by day to day, which made me even happier!

If you order a set, it comes with salad, chawanmushi, udon and tempura, so the portion is much bigger than I expected and I felt the value was decent too, haha. They even provide a fresh soy brush separately, and seeing that detail made me feel they really care about hygiene, which I liked even more.

Overall I was satisfied with the atmosphere, taste, set and service, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good place in Songhyeona, Incheon's Songdo, or for Songdo sushi ♡ I'd definitely come back!
