Sindang-dong sashimi course for 3 at ₩65,000 in Seoul: Ido Hoetjip
In short
Ido Hoetjip is a sashimi (hoe) restaurant in Sindang-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, a two-minute walk from Exit 1 of Yaksu Station. Over lunch with friends, the writer ordered the three-person course of flounder and salmon for 65,000 won, which ran from the free side dishes through grilled mackerel, corn cheese, seafood ramyeon and egg rice without a weak link. With one bottle of wine and one bottle of sake corkage-free, Ido Hoetjip is an easy pick for drinking alongside raw fish.

This time I'm introducing Ido Hoetjip, a raw fish restaurant near Yaksu Station. It's a Sindang-dong spot I'd recommend for catching up with old friends over a meal, or for a group dinner.
Where is Ido Hoetjip near Yaksu Station, and what does it look like?
Ido Hoetjip is only about a 2-minute walk from Exit 1 of Yaksu Station, so it's super easy to find from the station.

It's tucked right into an alley near Exit 1. Because it's so close to the station, my friends' reviews of the location were all great!
It's an independently run restaurant, and both the 1st and 2nd floors are used as dining space.
There's a fish tank at the entrance, so you can eat even fresher raw fish! (My unofficial rule for a good raw fish restaurant, haha.)
While eating, I even got to watch them catch the fish live from the tank.
Inside Ido Hoetjip: group seating and free corkage rules
The 1st floor has a clean, cozy neighborhood-restaurant vibe. Rather than fancy or formal, it felt comfortable — a good place to casually enjoy raw fish and drinks.

Up the stairs is a spacious 2nd floor. It's clean and laid out with plenty of room.
Group seating fits anywhere from 6 to 35 people. It seems great for everything from small gatherings to office dinners with drinks.
And notably — one bottle of wine and one bottle of sake, both of which pair well with raw fish, are corkage-free! Extra bottles beyond that, plus whiskey, are ₩10,000 per bottle.
If you're looking for a corkage-free bar to pair with raw fish, I highly recommend Ido Hoetjip.
Ido Hoetjip menu and lunch hours

There's a course menu as well as à la carte and set menus for the raw fish, so you can choose based on your taste!

If a full course feels like too much... from 11:30 to 15:00 they sell a lunch menu at a great price! That's why, even during the lunch hour I visited, a lot of people were there just for lunch.
What comes with the 65,000-won three-person flounder and salmon course
3-person course (flounder + salmon): ₩65,000

Here's what the course includes...
- Basic sides (sukidashi)
- Fish cake soup
- Corn butter
- Steamed egg
- Sushi
- Grilled mackerel
- Fried shrimp
- Sea squirt
- Seafood ramyeon or spicy fish stew
- Egg rice
If you want to enjoy a variety of dishes alongside the raw fish, I'd recommend the course menu. BUT! If you want to focus purely on raw fish, go for the à la carte raw fish menu!!!
Free side dishes, steamed egg and fish cake soup
Here's what the basic sides look like!
The basic side dishes were aged kimchi, beans, silkworm pupae, and even seaweed soup, plus raw vegetables like cucumber, carrot and peppers. Unlike other places, the steamed egg here is actually steamed, so it was even softer and tastier! It even had a slightly grilled-egg flavor..? haha
The fish cake soup had so much fish cake in it that it felt endless.

Corn cheese and grilled mackerel
One of the tastiest parts of the course — corn cheese and grilled mackerel!

I've seen plenty of raw fish restaurants where the sides are mediocre, but here every single dish in the lineup was delicious without exception. The mackerel was large and really moist, and all my friends were satisfied.

Eating through the sides here, every course tasted so good that I think this place would be great for a regular lunch or dinner, not just a special occasion.

Flounder sushi and fried shrimp also come one per person. For 3 people to enjoy this many dishes including raw fish for around ₩60,000-something total, that's pretty great value!!!

We met up for lunch with friends, but the raw fish + sides combo was such a perfect drinking snack... that we ended up enjoying a shot of soju too, haha.
Even though it wasn't dinner, how do you resist the raw fish + soju combo... plus, as I mentioned, corkage-free is an option too, so this is a Sindang-dong bar that anyone who loves drinking will absolutely love ><

How fresh and generous is the sashimi at Ido Hoetjip?
Since what I ordered wasn't the à la carte menu, the portion of raw fish wasn't huge, but it was absolutely not lacking for three people to share!! If anything, I'd say it was plenty.
Looking at each piece of raw fish, you could feel how firm and fresh it was. I kept seeing them catching fish out of the tank!!
I ordered the flounder + salmon combo, but they mixed in other cuts too. Even better!!!
Finishing the course with seafood ramyeon and egg rice
Once I said we'd finished the raw fish, we could choose between spicy fish stew or seafood ramyeon. Being young at heart, we went straight for the ramyeon!

The seafood ramyeon is genuinely refreshing with a spicy, punchy kick. I doubt there's a Korean person who wouldn't like this? Bean sprouts, mussels, shrimp, clams and more — the amount of seafood was huge too!!
We finished with carb-loaded egg rice ~~ an essential K-dessert! It came out in a stone pot, so we could even scrape up scorched rice crust at the end haha.

And that wraps up the raw fish course I ordered ~~ extremely, extremely satisfying.
Is Ido Hoetjip worth it? Final verdict
- A raw fish restaurant and bar in Sindang-dong with easy access and room for large groups
- Good course composition with tasty food throughout, and a course that's great value for money
- A great recommendation for a corkage-free wine and sake bar near Yaksu Station!
