Nowon sushi buffet: thick flatfish sushi, cockle bibimbap, Kuu Kuu
In short
Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is a 300-pyeong sushi buffet on the 6th floor of the Seoul Oncheon building in Hagye-dong, Nowon, Seoul. The writer booked through Naver Reservation and visited with her husband for weekday lunch (27,900 won), trying thick flatfish sushi, raw Norwegian salmon sashimi, mulhoe (cold raw fish soup), cockle bibimbap, Uljin red snow crab pasta, lamb chops, and mango and crepe cake for dessert. Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch had a wait even at weekday lunch, so booking ahead is wise, and it is a spot worth returning to for family meals and company dinners.

Today I went to Kuu Kuu in Hagye, Nowon! They've added more menu items, so you can enjoy even more dishes now! Here's my review of how thoroughly I ate!
Where is Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, and is there parking?
Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch (쿠우쿠우 노원점) is on the 6th floor of the Seoul Onchon building near Hagye Fire Station in Hagye-dong, Nowon. It's open 11:00-22:00, and last order is at 20:30.
The building is big, so you can park inside, and they say parking is covered for up to 2 hours!
Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch prices and booking tips
Prices are ₩27,900 for weekday lunch, ₩31,900 for weekday dinner and ₩35,900 on weekends. It's so popular that there may be a wait, so I recommend booking through Naver Reservation if you can!
I booked through Naver Reservation before going! (It was a weekday lunch, and there was still a wait!)
Seating and private rooms: good for family gatherings and company dinners?
The restaurant is a huge 300 pyeong, so there were a crazy number of seats! We were guided to a 4-person table. It looked suitable for all kinds of gatherings: dates, family meals, company dinners!
There are also private rooms, so it looked good for family events and company dinners too!
Okay, let's go eat for real now!! The buffet area and the dining area are separate, so picking out food was comfortable!

Salad and sushi: the flatfish sushi was especially thick
On the left side of the buffet there were many kinds of salad, plus various dressings, so it was easy to eat the way you like!

Now the main event, the sushi!! I couldn't fit it all in the photos, but there was a huge variety! Gunkan (battleship rolls), rolls and nigiri in many types, so it was great for trying a bit of everything!
The sushi was really fresh, and the flatfish sushi in particular had much thicker, longer slices of fish than other places, which made it even tastier!!

Raw salmon sashimi, mulhoe and cockle bibimbap
Next to the sushi there was sashimi too, and the salmon was fresh, not frozen! They say it's Norwegian raw salmon sashimi, which even Kuu Kuu Gold doesn't have.
There was also soy-marinated crab, soy-marinated shrimp and mulhoe (cold raw fish soup), and I had a bowl of the refreshing mulhoe too!

They also had cockle bibimbap (mixed rice), so I tried it. It was nutty and generously filled with cockles, so it was delicious! It was a little spicy though, and since I can't handle spice, I only ate a bit.

Grill menu: Uljin red snow crab pasta and lamb chops
Besides sushi, Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch had lots of grilled dishes too! Buffalo wings, Puringkle chicken, shrimp, pizza and a ton of pasta!
The Uljin red snow crab pasta, new this season, was packed with crab meat and so rich and tasty!

And the lamb chops, available all day! They had that signature lamb tenderness and were full of flavor, so good! The salmon steak my husband enjoyed was really good too~

The drinks are varied too, so you can choose to your taste: slush, soda, tea and coffee, all great!
Full-on food fighter mode!!! I ate well, didn't I?! There were so many kinds that I brought a little of each and then ate more of what suited my taste!
This one is a new menu item this season!

Desserts: crepe cake, mango and bead ice cream
You know Kuu Kuu's desserts are really solid, right?! The crepe cake new this season was so soft and delicious!
There's lots of fruit too, and please have the mango! It's big, super sweet and cold, and so good.

The ice cream selection is great too, especially this bead ice cream!! It used to be only a dinner and weekend item, but now you can have it at weekday lunch too!!

There's chocolate fondue, and patbingsu (shaved ice with red beans) you make yourself! Personally, I think the chocolate crepe cake is the best! And of course I had the waffles, which you can't skip at Kuu Kuu~
How much is unlimited draft beer at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch?
You can also get unlimited draft beer for ₩5,900! It's Kelly and Tera, not the cheap Filite, and right now there's a Naver review event where you can have it free if you write a Naver review!
Is Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch worth a return visit?
Compared with other branches, Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has a solid menu and tastes fresher, so I plan to go again! Highly recommended for family meals and company dinners!
