Weekend brunch at Yeongyeong Salad Dogok near Yangjae Station
I had poke salad for weekend brunch at Yeongyeong Salad Dogok (영영샐러드 도곡점). On weekends I like to eat clean for brunch, so I usually have fruit and yogurt or a salad. Yeongyeong Salad is known as a great salad place near Yangjae Station, the menu is varied so there's plenty to choose from, and everything we ordered was delicious. We left happy after a proper meal.

Yeongyeong Salad Dogok is in the alley next to Paris Baguette, across from the SPC headquarters at Yangjae Station. It's close to the station, so it's easy to get to. You can get poke salad and Japanese curry here, so if you don't feel like salad you can have curry instead, which makes it a good spot to come with someone who loves salad. You can eat in or take out, whichever suits you.

Seating and how to order at Yeongyeong Salad Dogok
It's a small shop with about 5–6 tables for two, and most people seemed to get takeout. We ate in, and delivery orders were coming in constantly too. There are lots of salads, and you can add toppings to each one, so you can add the ingredients you want and pick whatever appeals to you.

You order at a kiosk, and there's a self-service bar with water, wet wipes and tissues.
Yeongyeong Salad poke topped with a poached egg
Yeongyeong Salad tops its salads with a poached egg, which I think sets it apart from other salad shops. Mixed into the ponzu sauce, it was really good. It's hard to get vegetables even once a day, but here you can eat them deliciously, so I felt I could eat Yeongyeong Salad every day without getting tired of it. Maybe that's why people from the nearby clinics kept coming and going to pick up takeout.

Poke salad that comes out fast
The owner is so quick that food at Yeongyeong Salad Dogok comes out fast after you order. We'd barely sat down before our salads arrived. Poke salad as fast as fast food, love it.
Grilled mushroom poke: delicious even without meat?
We ordered the grilled mushroom poke and the fresh raw salmon poke. The grilled mushroom poke has no meat or salmon as a main, so I ordered it half worried it would be bland and half curious, but it was honestly way tastier than I expected.

The grilled mushrooms went really well with the ponzu sauce and almost felt like eating meat. Since the meal had no meat at all, I enjoyed it while also feeling I'd eaten really clean, which put me in a good mood. The poke also has brown rice inside the salad, so it filled me up nicely. And the salmon salad? Needless to say, it's delicious, no question.

The poached egg, sauce and brown rice combo is the kicker
The real kicker of Yeongyeong Salad's poke was the poached egg inside the salad. Eating it together with the sauce and brown rice made it even better. Getting the vegetables so many of us lack in such a tasty way felt fantastic. Personally, I liked the grilled mushroom even more than the salmon. And the secret: putting mushrooms on top of the salmon poke tasted even better!

Fresh raw salmon poke and the next visit
The salmon in the fresh raw salmon poke was fresh too, and great with the salad and brown rice. Both of the dishes we picked were so good that I'm curious about the rest of the menu, so next time I'll try something different. We scraped our bowls clean.
