Gapyeong dakgalbi restaurant with a rainy-day Tabling wait: Anbanji

In short

Namiseom Anbanji Dakgalbi is a charcoal-grill dakgalbi (spicy marinated chicken) restaurant near Nami Island in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi. On a rainy day the writer waited through the Tabling app, then ordered handmade marinated dakgalbi for two at 17,000 won per serving, Chuncheon bibim mak guksu (cold spicy buckwheat noodles) for 11,000 won, cheese fondue for 5,000 won and spicy chicken fried rice for 8,000 won. The art-hung indoor waiting room and 6 hours of free parking make Anbanji an easy rainy-day stop for families and couples, though the fried rice was ordinary for the price.

When you travel to Gapyeong, you usually end up stopping by Nami Island or Jaraseom.

Water play in the valley and sightseeing matter, of course, but honestly the thing that sticks with you longest from a trip is usually a good meal.

On this Gapyeong trip I planned to eat dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) near Nami Island. I'm introducing a grilled-style dakgalbi spot with a different charm from the usual pan-fried version.

Anbanji Dakgalbi hours, closing day and parking in Gapyeong

Gapyeong Anbanji Dakgalbi is open Monday–Friday 10:00–20:00 (closed every Tuesday, last order 19:20), and Saturday–Sunday 09:30–20:30 (last order 19:50). There's a dedicated parking lot next to the restaurant, and you get 6 hours of free parking with a meal.

Five quick takeaways before you go

  • I think this has the best parking of any dakgalbi place on the strip. Recommended for family trips!
  • The cheese fondue exceeded expectations..! Definitely try it
  • Pets welcome! Bring a pet stroller, carrier bag or cage and you can dine together — free loaner cages are also available if you don't have one.
  • Easy place if you book ahead with Tabling.
  • Once you fall for grilled dakgalbi, it's hard to go back.

Gapyeong Anbanji Dakgalbi is already famous enough to be included in the 2026 Blue Ribbon Survey.

The restaurant is huge and clearly built with families in mind — the parking lot was spacious and well organized.

They're also running a 5% discount for cash or bank transfer payments.

It rained nonstop the day I visited Gapyeong, but Namiseom Anbanji Dakgalbi had a separate indoor waiting area before entry.

They'd hung small framed paintings like a little gallery, which made for nice small talk with my girlfriend while we waited.

How the Tabling app wait works at Anbanji Dakgalbi

Anbanji Dakgalbi takes waitlist entries through the [Tabling] app. It gets busy on weekends, so I'd recommend booking ahead through the app.

Your whole party needs to be present to be seated.

Thanks to the group-entry rule, reservations, and the staff's quick hands, table turnover was fast. I liked that we didn't have to wait long.

Anbanji Dakgalbi menu and prices: salt-grilled vs marinated

Unlike pan-fried dakgalbi, this is cooked directly over charcoal, so the fire was already prepped when we sat down. I loved that hit of charcoal aroma.

Personally, I think dakgalbi tastes better grilled like this than just stir-fried — the lightly charred surface adds a much deeper flavor.

This is the self-serve corner before the main dishes arrive. There was dongchimi (watery radish kimchi) that really suited my taste — cool, slightly sweet, and crunchy!

Anbanji Dakgalbi has two main signature dishes: the original salt-grilled charcoal dakgalbi and the handmade marinated charcoal dakgalbi.

Both are ₩17,000 per serving. There's also mak guksu (buckwheat noodles), fried rice, cheese fondue, potato pancake, acorn jelly, cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew), and more.

We ordered marinated dakgalbi for two (₩34,000), Chuncheon-style bibim mak guksu (₩11,000), cheese fondue (₩5,000), and spicy chicken fried rice (₩8,000).

Is the Chuncheon bibim mak guksu worth 11,000 won?

If you're getting the mak guksu, I'd especially recommend the seasoned version. It has plenty of gim (seaweed) flakes for a nutty flavor, and they give mustard on the side — adding it really brings out a naengmyeon (cold noodle)-like character.

With sauce on sauce, the savoriness doubled — it was great. Good as a palate cleanser, and at the end I added dongchimi to turn it into a cold soup noodle, which was a nice touch.

Cheese fondue for 5,000 won: worth adding?

Anbanji Dakgalbi pushes its handmade cheese fondue — mozzarella, cream cheese and cheddar paired with the charcoal-grilled dakgalbi. If you love cheese, definitely try it, and even if you're not usually into it, I'd still recommend giving it a shot.

I'm a cheese lover myself, and my girlfriend is only lukewarm on cheese — but she was scraping the bowl clean. The cheese fondue is genuinely good.

Lettuce wraps, mustard mak guksu, special wasabi sauce, cheongyang chili hot sauce — lots of fun ways to mix it up.

Why the spicy dakgalbi fried rice was the weak point

Last up, the spicy dakgalbi fried rice (₩8,000). Since Anbanji Dakgalbi is a grill-it-yourself place, the fried rice is made separately in the kitchen and brought out to you.

The taste was average — moderately spicy with an oily flavor. Personally I wished it had some diced radish kimchi or more meat in it. Given the ₩8,000 price, it was fairly ordinary.

If you're headed to Gapyeong or Nami Island, or planning a family or couple's trip to Gapyeong, and you're the type who thinks 'Gapyeong means dakgalbi!' — I'd recommend Anbanji Dakgalbi.
