What is Yahwa Sillim like?

Yahwa Sillim is a cocktail bar on the basement level of a building, 108 m from Exit 4 of Sillim Station. I ended up doing a hasty double-header with a friend on the day I went to a rotation blind date, and this place was the total "good vibes" cocktail bar.

Yahwa Sillim is on the basement level, so you walk down the stairs.

"Yahwa" (야화) combines the characters for night (夜) and story (話). It's a solo-drinking bar meant to hold stories that bloom like flowers at night, they say.

At the entrance of Yahwa Sillim there are bag hooks where women can hang their bags. Great thinking by the owner!!

At Yahwa Sillim you order by tapping the NFC tag on your table. Signature cocktails are ₩15,000 or less and snacks run about ₩5,000–8,000, which is a really kind price.

The snack menu is easy stuff to nibble on, like truffle potato chips, pineapple sorbet, chocolate, cheesecake and cassava chips. And you can bring in outside food too!

The complimentary snack at Yahwa Sillim is dakdari gwaja (a chicken-drumstick-shaped snack) haha. They also give you a hovenia stick and honey for free. So touched that they even look after customers' hangovers... 💛

What's the atmosphere at Yahwa Sillim at 11 pm?

I went to Yahwa Sillim around 11 pm with a friend. Maybe because solo-drinking bars are popular these days, there was an even mix of people who came with friends and people who came alone. The ratio of women to men felt balanced too!

If you're looking for a bar with a good mood in Sillim these days, Yahwa Sillim is well worth recommending. The lighting is stylish, with a moderate brightness and an emotional vibe, so it was exactly my taste! I like bars that are moderately dark rather than too bright, and this is just that.

Table games that make it easy to talk with someone you just met

On the tables at Yahwa Sillim there are little bits of entertainment, like a magical problem-solving book. Think of a question and flip it open for fun~~

There are also balance games and image games that are great for breaking the ice, and a crocodile teeth-pressing game. With this kind of content at every seat, it seems like a place where you can have natural, fun times even when you run out of things to talk about with people you've just met.

How do the Dohwa and Dalbitjakyak cocktails and ricotta cheese crackers taste?

First I ordered a cocktail called Dohwa (₩15,000), and the color alone totally won me over 💓 It's a smooth cocktail blending a fresh cherry fruit aroma, so I think any woman would like the taste.

Dalbitjakyak (₩13,000) is Yahwa's signature cocktail, a floral drink to enjoy light and fresh. It's said to be 6.3% ABV. A single deep pink flower sits on top of the clear cocktail, and I tasted a subtle floral scent and a light fizz.

I was also very happy with the ricotta cheese crackers I ordered with them!! Soft ricotta plus honey... no words. The thick creaminess of the cheese and the crunch of the crackers go really well with the cocktails, a light snack.
