Paju café with a diaper changing table and carbonara: Barirus

This holiday I went with my mother- and father-in-law to check out a new large café in Paju, baby in tow, and honestly the place was cleaner and the food tastier than I expected! Lots of bread varieties and plenty to look at inside too, so I'm writing up this recommendation post for Barirus, a large Paju café worth a visit at least once~😉

Where Barirus is and when it opens

Barirus is on the 2nd floor at 245 Bongseosan-ro, Paju-eup, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. It's open weekdays 10:00–21:00, and weekends/holidays 10:00–02:00, with last order an hour before closing.

We visited Barirus, this large Paju café, with my in-laws, and the whole drive there we couldn't see the café building at all, so I kept wondering 'is this even the right road...?' But once we arrived, it turned out to be inside a genuinely huge building!

Walking further in, there was a huge banner that already got me excited about eating brunch (?) hahaha

Visiting Barirus with a baby: no elevator, but a diaper changing table

There's no elevator to get up to Barirus, so a baby carrier was more convenient than a stroller for us. The diaper changing table is inside the store, behind the curtain in the direction of the women's restroom.

By the way, we came without a stroller, just the baby carrier, and since there's no elevator, a lot of the other families with babies were also just carrying them, no strollers~! If you're planning to bring a stroller, keep this in mind!!!

Right after climbing the stairs, this gorgeous view opens up and it's honestly a bit overwhelming hahaha

There are so many seats inside that you can just pick whichever chair looks comfy and sit down!

Just a reminder, the diaper changing table is also inside the store, behind the curtain toward the women's restroom, so keep that in mind!

The lighting throughout is done really tastefully so photos come out pretty haha

Outdoor tent seats and the pine forest view at Barirus

Barirus also has outdoor tent seating, which my father-in-law was totally coveting hahaha. It was too hot to actually sit there, so we just took photos, but since you can watch the sunset in the evening, that's probably why they stay open until 2am on weekends and holidays! If you like camping, this spot is right up your alley hahaha

The bakery counter at Barirus: breads and cakes

Barirus sells pasta and pizza, but it's also a bakery café with bread and cakes.

Whoa, this looks delicious!!! I tried it later and it really was hahaha

This one seemed more like my brother-in-law's style hahaha

There's also an area inside that would be great for a toddler learning to walk to hold mom's hand and toddle along — I thought it'd be nice to come back here once our baby starts walking hahaha

The inner section has a pine forest view, so sipping coffee while looking out at the trees seemed really relaxing hahahaha

First we took a look at the menu to order, and I grabbed a nice clear photo of it hahaha

By the way, apparently if you do the receipt review event you get a cookie, so if you like cookies, give it a try~!

The gallery space and shoes-off floor seating

While waiting for the food, there was a gallery space inside Barirus so I took a quick look around.

Wandering around it with my mother-in-law and the baby wasn't bad at all~

There were also various seating types inside, and going up to the upper level there's a shoes-off area where the baby could crawl around freely, so we played there for a bit hahaha

How did the carbonara and bacon diavola pizza taste?

Before we knew it the buzzer went off and we brought the food over — the carbonara had way more bacon and ham inside than I expected. I usually don't expect much from the taste at large cafés like this, but it was actually quite good and I enjoyed it,

and the pizza was solidly good too!

The drinks and bread too~ ta-da~~~ everything was so delicious hahaha

Laughing away, we ate well and spent time with the baby in the nice cool interior before heading home~

The store is spacious and has a diaper changing table, so it seems really good for visiting with a baby too!
