Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch is an authentic Indian restaurant I found in Sinchon. You can enjoy proper Indian food near Yonsei University, and the courses and desserts are well put together. It's a good stop after a visit to Yonsei Severance Hospital, and I'd recommend it for dates, get-togethers and a change from your usual meal out.

Not into strong spices? Is Indian food at Meno Kamena still a good choice?
Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch balances its spices to suit Korean tastes, so even people trying Indian food for the first time can enjoy it without worry. Sometimes you want something a little different from Korean or Western food, right? 😊 This time I was on a date with my boyfriend in Mapo, and I suddenly craved my favorite Indian food, so we went to Meno Kamena, which is well known as a Sinchon Indian curry spot.

Some people find Indian food a bit heavy because of the spices, but Meno Kamena balances its flavors to suit Korean tastes, so I think first-timers can enjoy it comfortably. It's also an easy place to drop in on the day of a Severance appointment or a day out around Yonsei.
What kind of restaurant is Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch?
Meno Kamena is a restaurant specializing in authentic Indian food. You can get a range of curries, tandoori chicken, naan (Indian flatbread), lassi (yogurt drink) and more, and the set menus are especially well designed, so first-time visitors can order easily.

Honestly, I've been four or five times already, and it's a Seodaemun favorite that lots of people visit. This time the goal was a Sinchon date with my boyfriend and finding something different to eat out 💙

It's great for a date, and I think it would suit a get-together with friends or a family meal too.

Meno Kamena menu: what to order on your first visit
Curries alone come in chicken, mutton, shrimp, vegetable and more, and the naan has plenty of choices too, like garlic naan and butter naan. The menu really is wide.

The set menus, served as a course, are such good value that I'd suggest ordering one on a first visit.
- Set menu recommended for first visits
- Try curry, naan and lassi together
- 5% event for writing a review
- Garlic naan add-on
Meno Kamena Set A for two: what the course includes and how it tastes
This time we ordered the Meno Kamena Set A for two without a second thought. On a first visit the menu is so big it's hard to choose, but ordering a set let us try lots of Indian dishes at once 😊
🥗 Green salad and chicken mushroom soup
First out in Set A were the green salad and chicken mushroom soup. Even the starters were generous.

The salad was fresh, and the mushroom soup was smooth and rich, almost like soy milk, a good appetite opener before the main meal.

The side dishes were good too, though the red onion salad I ate thinking it was kimchi turned out to be a bit sweet, haha.
🥟 Samosa
The samosa (fried pastry) was the dish I really wanted to try! It's crispy outside, filled with potato and vegetables, and not as heavy as I expected.

Dipped in the spicy green sauce, it went really well and tasted wonderfully different 😊
🍤 King prawn
Even though it's a set, it came with a palm-sized tiger prawn?? King prawn! I was surprised.

The texture was nice and bouncy, and the spices weren't overpowering, so it's easy for anyone to enjoy.
🍗 Tandoori chicken
The tandoori chicken was honestly one of the dishes I liked most! It had a lightly grilled aroma outside and stayed moist inside.

You can taste that signature tandoori spice, but it isn't strong, so even Indian food beginners can handle it.
🍛 Butter chicken curry
The butter chicken curry, fittingly the signature dish of a Sinchon Indian curry spot, was the first thing we reached for.

The sauce was smooth and creamy with plenty of chicken, and not spicy, so anyone would like it. After tasting it, I immediately understood why so many people recommend it as a Sinchon Indian curry spot. Eaten with naan, it's the best 😊
🫓 Garlic naan
The garlic naan was my favorite! It's baked to order, so it came out warm and chewy.

It has a subtle garlic aroma and goes really well with the butter chicken curry. Piling on lots of curry made me feel richly happy 😆
🍚 Basmati rice
Basmati rice feels a little different from Korean rice. It's known for its fluffy, separate grains, and mixed with the curry it went together better than I expected.

I liked being able to enjoy the curry two ways, with naan and with rice.
🥭 Mango lassi and plain lassi
Lassi is the perfect way to finish the meal! Sweet and cold, it cleansed my mouth after the spiced food. Personally, I liked the mango lassi a little more 😊
Ordering tips for Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch
- Set A is recommended for first visits
- Butter chicken curry is the safest curry choice
- Garlic naan over plain naan
- Be sure to order lassi too
- For two people, one Set A is already quite filling

Would I go back to Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch?
Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch: likely to revisit 💙 I'd come back when I crave something different in Sinchon. Above all, among Sinchon restaurants it gets both atmosphere and food quality right, so I left happy. There were three company dinner tables that day, and couples on dates kept coming in.
If you want a slightly special meal out in Sinchon, I recommend Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch 😊
- A day you're looking for a date spot
- A day you want to try somewhere unusual with friends
- A day you want to try Indian food for the first time
- A day you're craving curry and naan

If you're looking for a Sinchon restaurant or Indian curry spot, it's worth a visit. The combination of deeply flavored curry and chewy naan was far tastier than I expected 😊
