Syo-ha (it means "small but high", as in small happiness)

This time I went to Bass Burger Yeouido for a light dinner after playing at the Han River pool in Yeouido with my boyfriend.

Visiting Bass Burger Yeouido

I already like Bass Burger and drop by now and then, and even after a while away it was still delicious. The chips service here in particular is as satisfying as ever, and the burgers are fresh, so it's a really good place for a meal.

Which burger place in Yeouido is open on weekend evenings?

Bass Burger Yeouido is open through dinner even on weekends! If you've been out at Yeouido Park or the Han River and need somewhere for a weekend dinner, it's a good choice.

Yeouido has tons of places for lunch or dinner, but surprisingly it can be hard to find one that's open into the evening on weekends. With so many restaurants aimed at office workers it can't be helped, but if you're there to hang out at Yeouido Park, it's a shame that so few places are open.

How to get to Bass Burger Yeouido

Bass Burger Yeouido is on the first basement floor of Yulchon Building, about a 4–5 minute walk from Yeouido Station Exit 3. It sits between IFC Mall and The Hyundai Seoul, so it's easy to fit into a route. The building entrance may be a little confusing at first, but head down on the side where Coffee Bean is and you'll find it right away.

There's also a takeout-only kiosk in front of the shop, so if you're getting takeout you can order right outside.

Atmosphere and how to order

The shop was clean overall, and the tables were spaced generously.

and there was no need to stand in line, which was convenient. Best of all, the kitchen is open, so you can see the patties being grilled and the cooking process, which made me trust the food even more.

Are the Bass Burger chips really free to refill?

At Bass Burger Yeouido, people eating in can take as many chips from the self-serve bar as they like. The self-serve chips were the first thing that caught my eye here.

Seriously, I can't stop reaching for these! They're thin and crispy, and I went back for refills twice before the burgers even arrived. The salt level is just right, so you keep picking at them. Even without ordering fries separately, I was perfectly satisfied.

So instead of fries, we decided to add the new Chili Mozzarella Cheese Bar.

Bass Burger Yeouido menu and prices

We ordered one Bass Burger combo, one Double Bass Burger on its own, a Chili Mozzarella Cheese Bar and a glass of Bass Lager. The Bass Burger combo was ₩10,600, the Double Bass Burger ₩11,900, the Chili Mozzarella Cheese Bar ₩3,700 and the Bass Lager ₩3,900.

We switched both burgers to grilled onions. Personally, whenever I come to Bass Burger I always swap to grilled onions. The swap is free, so I really recommend it!

How is the new Chili Mozzarella Cheese Bar?

Bass Burger's new Chili Mozzarella Cheese Bar is crispy outside with mozzarella that stretches out in long strings inside. It was the very first thing I ate when the food came out.

The batter isn't thick, so it's clean and easy to eat, and the spicy chili sauce cut the richness nicely.

It goes really well with beer.

Bass Burger and Double Bass Burger review

As always, the Bass Burger was delicious even though I wasn't expecting much. It feels far fresher than other burger brands.

Bass Burger switched to grilled onions

The bun was soft and not heavy, and the romaine and tomato were crisp, giving it a fresh taste. The patty wasn't too salty and balanced well with the cheese, so it was easy to finish without feeling weighed down.

The Double Bass Burger has two patties, so meat lovers will probably be very happy with it. The burger isn't huge, but the ingredients work so well together that it was more filling than I expected.

Tips for enjoying Bass Burger

The way Bass Burger recommends eating is to put the complimentary chips inside your burger. I also strongly recommend the free swap to grilled onions.

Adding chips gives it a crunchy texture and makes the burger much better. The calories go up a bit, but I hope you'll try it at least once. Haha.

Sweet grilled onions go much better with the patty than crunchy raw onions. There's a good variety of sauces too, so dipping the chips was fun, and having beer alongside made the meal even more satisfying.

Who is Bass Burger Yeouido for?

Bass Burger Yeouido works for a solo meal, a date or an office lunch. When your meals in Yeouido start to feel samey, this is the place that comes to mind.

Dinner at Bass Burger Yeouido

It's comfortable to come alone, fine for a date, and seemed good for an office lunch too. The chips refill service especially stuck with me, since it's a charm you rarely see at other burger places. If I'm in Yeouido again, I'll probably stop by once more.

Pros

  • You can refill the chips for free.
  • The burger ingredients are fresh and the taste is clean.
  • The free swap to grilled onions is a big plus.
  • Tablet ordering makes things easy.

Cons

  • The burgers are a little small.
  • First-time visitors may find the building entrance slightly confusing.

Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4 / 5)

This is the place I think of when I want a clean, fresh burger in Yeouido. The free chips were more satisfying than I expected, and the burgers were fresh enough that I enjoyed them to the last bite. I'd happily go back. I'd recommend it to Yeouido office workers at lunch and to anyone looking for a good spot near The Hyundai Seoul or a date-night meal.
