What is Yeonhui Oven like?
Yeonhui Oven (연희동오븐) is a shop famous in the Yeonhui-dong dessert scene for financiers and other baked sweets. I went to Yeonhui-dong with a friend not long ago, and she recommended it as a place known for its financiers, so that's how I ended up here.

I generally like financiers and baked sweets, and I especially love tigres. So I came along with my friend and packed up tigres and financiers as gifts for other friends!
Yeonhui-dong has so many pretty dessert shops, but I heard Yeonhui Oven is known not just for tasty desserts but also for gifts and thank-you favors, so I was extra excited. After visiting in person, I understood why so many people recommend it as a top financier spot in Seoul. Okay, let me get into the details!

The vibe: a takeout-only shop with no seats
Yeonhui Oven is a baked-sweets shop in a Yeonhui-dong alley, and it's takeout only, with no place to sit and eat. It suited Yeonhui-dong's quiet, tasteful atmosphere well.
The exterior looked clean and upscale, the kind that would catch your eye even just walking past. The shop isn't as big as I expected, though. But the tight space actually gave it a real dessert-shop feel. Most customers seemed to be there for gifts, thank-you favors or takeout.

A display of real samples to choose from
The first thing I noticed inside was the neatly arranged dessert samples. At baked-sweets shops you often buy by name alone, or the items are hidden in a fridge, or you check photos, but at Yeonhui Oven the actual samples are out on display, so it's easy to see what each dessert is and choose.

Financiers, tigres, madeleines and more were displayed beautifully, and they looked really pretty. You could feel the care in each one, so I thought they'd be great for gifts.
I was also impressed that everything is baked right in the shop. Lots of places nowadays sell items delivered from elsewhere, so the fact that Yeonhui Oven bakes its own made me trust it more.

Is the gift wrapping at Yeonhui Oven really free?
Yeonhui Oven does individual wrapping and a ribbon-finished box as standard, at no extra cost. I heard it's also famous for thank-you favor orders, and after visiting I got why right away. The most impressive part was the packaging. Even though all of it is free, it was so thoughtful and classy.

Every dessert was individually wrapped, and the box packaging was neat too. The ribbon finish looked especially luxurious, so I thought it was more than good enough for a gift.

It's standard wrapping with no extra charge, yet it felt like something that would make the receiver happy. And since each piece is individually wrapped, it'd also be good for bringing to the office or a gathering and handing out one by one.

Wedding and first-birthday party favors: order by phone
Maybe that's why Yeonhui Oven seems popular for wedding favors too. Small gift-sized thank-you orders are taken by reservation, so call to ask~!
I bought some to give to my friends, and seeing the packaging, I could tell why it's famous in Yeonhui-dong for thank-you gifts and presents. I'd totally recommend it if you're thinking about wedding favors, first-birthday party favors or snack gifts for the office. Madeleine cakes can be reserved too, so it looked great for gifts on special days.

2 tigres and 3 financiers: what I picked as gifts

What I bought at Yeonhui Oven that day was 2 kinds of tigre and 3 kinds of financier, 5 in all.
- Tigre original ₩3,900
- Tigre Earl Grey ₩3,800
- Pecan salted caramel financier ₩3,700
- Double choco financier ₩3,600
- Wine fig financier ₩3,600
Prices overall were in the ₩3,000 range. Considering dessert prices these days, it wasn't a big burden, so buying several was fine.

I usually like tigres, so I picked those first (a gift to match my own taste, haha), and bought a variety of financiers too to give to my friends. Since these were packed as gifts, I didn't get to taste them myself, but receiving the packaging, I understood why so many people look for it for thank-you favors and gifts.

Packaging that even includes storage and eating instructions
Yeonhui Oven's packaging also comes with storage and eating instructions, which makes gifting easy. Every dessert was individually wrapped, so storing looked easy, and it seemed good for handing out one each to several people. And it's not just the individual wrapping that's neat; the whole box packaging was really thoughtful too.

With the ribbon added, the packaging felt far more luxurious than I expected, and it was impressive that it's standard with no extra charge. Once I actually received it, there was no need for separate gift wrapping at all.

I bought these to give to my friends, and I thought the recipients would be happy to get them. Maybe that's why Yeonhui Oven keeps coming up as a Yeonhui-dong spot for thank-you gifts, presents and desserts. If you're looking for a dessert gift for a special day, or worrying about office snacks or favors, it's worth a visit.
Who is Yeonhui Oven for?
Yeonhui Oven bakes everything in the shop, and with financiers, tigres, madeleines and more to choose from, there's plenty of variety. The packaging was what impressed me most: individual wrapping plus a classy ribbon box, all free, so it's great for gifting and I was really satisfied. It made sense why it's famous in Yeonhui-dong for thank-you gifts and presents.
It was a dessert shop that's good for sharing with friends and for gifts on special days. If you're looking for something special in Yeonhui-dong, if you like baked sweets, or if you're pondering a dessert gift, I recommend stopping by once. Personally, I'd like to reserve a madeleine cake next time😊
