My Bless Sauna is a Finnish-style private solo sauna on the 2nd floor of the Golden Plaza 2 building in Bulsang-dong, Cheonan. The visit was a 90-minute solo sauna booked through Naver Reservations with the "pre-fill water (warm)" option, so a warm half-body bath was waiting right after the shower, along with sikhye (sweet rice drink), boiled egg snacks and a waterproof book. My Bless Sauna suits anyone who wants to unwind alone and quietly, with nothing to bring.

Hyangtaek Cheonan Buldang Branch is a Korean restaurant in Buldang-dong, Cheonan, a branch of the healthy home-style rice house that started at Gyodong Market in Daegu. A married couple shared mackerel gondre rice (14,000 won), perilla-leaf squid rice bowl (13,000 won) and Cheongsong-style chicken bulgogi (9,000 won), eaten with gopchang gim (thin roasted seaweed), seasoned salted seafood and the house sauce. With 2 hours of free parking in the Hyangtaek building and bar seats for solo diners, Hyangtaek serves the kind of home-cooked spread worth coming back for.

Cheonan café for a cream-free sweet latte and 4 baked treats: Brewers

Brewers Coffee Cheonan Sinbu Branch is a baked-goods and coffee café in Sinbu-dong, Cheonan, a 3-minute walk from Cheonan Shinsegae Department Store. Every seat except the bar was taken, so the writer ordered a sweet latte (6,000 won) and four baked treats — two financiers, a madeleine and a canelé — to go and ate them in the car. The sweet latte is rich and thick even without a cream top, and a new four-cut photo booth on the terrace gives a reason to stay next time.
