Dunsan-dong pasta restaurant beside Galleria: cream ragù pappardelle
In short
Plate Dunsan Branch is a fresh pasta restaurant on the 2nd floor of the building next to Galleria Department Store in Dunsan-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon. From a window seat the writer ordered two sets — steak cream ragù with pappardelle noodles and scallop uni oil pasta — which came with cream soup, salad and bushman-style bread, with the pasta set at 14,900 won and the steak set at 37,900 won. Plate Dunsan Branch has no parking, so public transport is easiest, but the fresh-noodle texture makes it a rare find in Dunsan-dong.

Where is Plate Dunsan Branch in Daejeon?
Plate Dunsan Branch is on the 2nd floor of the building next to Galleria Department Store in Dunsan-dong, Daejeon. This new pasta spot in Dunsan-dong had been on my radar for a while, and I finally got to visit!

It's on the 2nd floor of the building next to Galleria in Dunsan-dong, so it wasn't hard to find. There's no dedicated parking, so I'd recommend public transit.

Out front there was a standing sign introducing Plate, easy to spot.

Even though it's on the 2nd floor, you can take the elevator as well as the stairs.

The store entrance is right there as soon as you step off the elevator.

Inside Plate Dunsan Branch: room for group gatherings
The inside of Plate Dunsan Branch was bigger than I expected, with more tables further in — great for group gatherings. The kitchen was well separated from the dining area too, which really let the stylish interior stand out 🫢
Every table was set up neatly with a nice atmosphere 🤗

We were shown to a window seat — great light and a nice vibe.

There were baby chairs too, so it's convenient for family gatherings, and since it's a fresh pasta specialty restaurant, the images on the wall really caught my eye 👀

Since it's a western food spot, they had a variety of wines lined up too — good for pairing with a glass or two.

Once seated, they bring out cutlery, pickles, and water.

How to order and what the sets cost
At Plate Dunsan Branch, you check off items directly on the bill using the menu placed at each table. The staff kindly explained everything to us!

The menu might look confusing at first glance, but the ordering system was simpler than expected. Also, there's ₩1,000 off for cash payments over ₩30,000, and a free ice cream for Naver receipt reviews — worth joining in ✔️

You choose between basic or signature pasta, or the steak options. You can order à la carte, but the set is much better value, so we went with sets. The basic pasta set is ₩14,900, the steak set is ₩37,900, and the signature pasta adds ₩5,000. There are also separate side dishes and a good range of drinks, beer, highballs, and wine to enjoy alongside.

Choosing your fresh noodle at Plate Dunsan Branch
And this is Plate's real strength. They use house-made fresh noodles, so if you love fresh pasta, this is a must. There are various noodle types, and each pasta has its own recommended noodle. I love fresh noodles, so having a variety to pick from was a plus 👏

They also have pizzas, so if you're visiting with a group, it's easy to order several dishes.

Cream soup, salad and bread included in the set
Once you order the set at Plate Dunsan Branch, they first bring out the salad, bread, and soup.

The starter soup is a cream soup — warm and smooth, a perfect way to start the meal.

The salad had a not-too-sweet dressing and soft greens, perfect for whetting the appetite.

The bread comes in a bushman bread style.

It's served with a soft, sweet fresh cream, and honestly the bread alone was delicious (haha) 🙂↕️

Steak cream ragù pappardelle and scallop uni oil pasta
What we ordered that day at Plate Dunsan Branch was the steak cream ragù and the scallop uni oil pasta. Looks so appetizing, right? 🤤

This is the cream ragù topped with two pieces of steak. I picked pappardelle, a wide noodle, which they said pairs well with heavy sauces.
We mixed it well so the noodles could soak up the sauce.

The ground meat, chives, and the rich, smooth cream sauce all came together perfectly — not a single element out of place. It matched the pappardelle so well, I really enjoyed it!

This is the scallop uni oil pasta my seafood-loving friend ordered. She picked the recommended noodle, spaghetti.

With scallop, uni, and a well-balanced shellfish broth, seafood lovers would really enjoy this! The spaghetti was also fresh noodle, and the texture was clearly different from dried noodles, making it even more enjoyable.
Who should visit Plate Dunsan Branch?
This is Plate, a fresh pasta spot in Dunsan-dong. If you want a stylish place for a group gathering in Dunsan-dong, I think this is a top choice. Fresh pasta restaurants aren't common, so if you love fresh noodles, I'd definitely recommend visiting. Next time I'm going to try the gnocchi or pizza 😍
