Cheongju pot rice spot: 10-a-day shrimp gimbap, Sorori Sotbap
Sorori Sotbap Culture Factory Branch is a local sotbap (rice cooked in an individual pot) restaurant on the 1st floor of Wonder Aria in Cheongju, right next to the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA). The writer's daughter had only ever had the salmon buckwheat gimbap (seaweed rice roll) as takeout, so they came back together to eat in, ordering pollock roe butter pot rice, salmon buckwheat gimbap and the shrimp buckwheat gimbap, limited to 10 a day. Verdict: with butter and furikake mixed in and wrapped in seaweed, the pollock roe butter pot rice at Sorori Sotbap is good enough to eat every day, and the leftover gimbap still tasted just as good after being packed to go.
