I went out near Independence Hall in Cheonan and had a delicious handmade dumpling hot pot.

I still remembered how amazing the naengmyeon (cold noodles) was at Omi Omi last summer, so I came back, and the dumpling hot pot was just as generous and so, so good.

Let me introduce you to this Bukmyeon, Cheonan favorite that gives you king mandu (dumplings) as an appetizer and naengmyeon as dessert.
Where is Omi Omi Dumpling Hot Pot Sono Bell Main Branch?
Omi Omi Handmade Dumpling Hot Pot & Kudzu Naengmyeon Sono Bell Main Branch (오미오미 수제만두전골&칡냉면 소노벨 본점) is in Bukmyeon, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, Chungnam, 5 minutes each from Independence Hall and Cheonan Sono Bell. If you are sightseeing or staying nearby and looking for a good place to eat, the location works well.

Interior and seating
The inside of Omi Omi is quite spacious and pleasant. It was so busy that I couldn't take proper photos of the interior, but

there are plenty of tables, so even a big group would fit with room to spare.
What comes with the dumpling hot pot at Omi Omi?

Omi Omi's signature dish is the handmade dumpling hot pot, simmered with dumplings they make themselves! Last time it was midsummer, so I had naengmyeon and tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patties). Now that mornings and evenings are getting chilly, it was time for a hot, spicy handmade dumpling hot pot.

If you order the handmade dumpling hot pot at Omi Omi, ramen and sujebi noodles are unlimited refills, and you get naengmyeon for dessert.
4 free king mandu with fernbrake and shiitake
At Omi Omi they give you special handmade king mandu filled with fernbrake and shiitake mushrooms, and big ones too, four of them!! For free. You get 2 packed kimchi mandu and 2 meat mandu.

Dipping these mandu, bigger than a fist, into the special sauce was pure bliss.

They're as generously filled as they are big. Maybe because of the fernbrake, the texture is great, and with the shiitake added it isn't greasy at all, just full of flavor in every bite.
Handmade dumpling hot pot for ₩15,000 per person: what's in it and how it tastes

Wow, what a hearty, appetizing-looking hot pot. It could easily be featured on the TV show Saengsaeng Jeongbo's "God of Business" segment.

Omi Omi's handmade dumpling hot pot is ₩15,000 per person of happiness. With the naengmyeon on top, it felt like a meal worth well over ₩20,000.

A generous hot pot with handmade dumplings and loads of fernbrake and shiitake!! I was so excited to find out how it would taste.

Besides the king mandu, there's plenty of shabu-style sliced beef and all kinds of vegetables, plus shrimp and mushrooms

and glass noodles. It's already hearty at this point, but
Unlimited sujebi and ramen noodles, and self-serve broth

At Omi Omi, the sujebi and ramen you scoop up yourself are unlimited too, what!! The chewy sujebi was the masterstroke. Honestly, I was too full for the ramen, but you absolutely have to have the sujebi.

If you run low on broth, you can refill that yourself too 🤭 If you like a clean, mild taste, go with the light broth, and if you like it spicy, the kicky version is great. The deep broth brought out even more flavor from the dumpling filling, and it was delicious.
You have to ask for the dessert mul naengmyeon

For the dessert mul naengmyeon at Omi Omi, tell them when you feel like you've eaten enough!! If you don't ask, they won't bring it, haha. That makes sense, since some people are already so stuffed they won't, or rather can't, eat any more.

But!! Aren't Koreans a different species with separate stomachs for rice and dessert? 🤗👌

I doubt anyone would turn down naengmyeon this good.

I already knew how good Omi Omi's naengmyeon is from last summer, so there was no way I could skip it. Great as a palate cleanser too!

Omi Omi: many flavors in one meal
Omi Omi carries the meaning "enjoying a variety of flavors." True to its name, it starts with king mandu, then the handmade dumpling hot pot with sujebi and ramen, and finally dessert naengmyeon. It's a complete meal with plenty of variety.

If you're looking for a hearty, tasty, good-value place near Independence Hall, go for Omi Omi's handmade dumpling hot pot.
