Uijeongbu cake café: black sesame Basque over chocolate, Forerest
In short
Forerest is a large café on Nogyang-ro in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi, whose signature is Basque cheesecake. On an evening revisit with her older sister, the writer skipped her usual chocolate and tried the black sesame Basque cheesecake (8,000 won) for the first time, alongside the plain Basque cheesecake (7,500 won), apple ade, chamomile, Pink Relax and a decaf Americano. Verdict: Forerest's nutty, dense black sesame Basque cheesecake suited her better than the plain one, making for a satisfying return visit.

What are the outdoor seats like at Forerest in Uijeongbu?

Forerest, a great cake café in Uijeongbu, is a big café, so even the outdoor area is huge. There are tons of outdoor tables, and with all the lights it's bright even at night. With the weather right now, the outdoor tables were just perfect!
The entrance and atmosphere at Forerest

The café has a great mood right from the entrance, and just walking in put me in a good mood! I remembered the atmosphere being nice and the drinks and cakes tasty from my last visit, and this time it was just as good!
Inside Forerest: is it okay for groups?

The inside has all kinds of spaces too. There seem to be about 4 rooms, and a big open area in the middle, so it works for couples, families or groups.
Maybe because we went in the evening, there were a lot of customers! We took a seat in the middle of the open space.

The drinks and cakes arrive

Ta-da!!!!! Everything we ordered is here. I liked that it all came out so fast.
Forerest is a bachike (Basque cheesecake) place, and the shape of the cake is so unusual, haha. If you look at the GIF, you can see my sister's hand, waiting just for me to finish the photo so she can grab it... haha! Wait!!! haha
How are the coffee, decaf and tea at Forerest?

Forerest's coffee is a blend of specialty beans. They after-blend 4 kinds of beans for balance, and say they prepared it with the balance of flavor and harmony with desserts as the priority. The latte is the one the café recommends!
For people sensitive to caffeine there are decaf options and teas, and the teas are carefully selected organic ones, they say. The decaf coffee isn't ordinary decaf either; they use good beans that give a rich coffee flavor.
Forerest's signature: Basque cheesecake

The signature of Forerest, the Uijeongbu cake spot!!! A bachike with a unusual shape and great taste. I'd been before so I knew how good it was, and I wanted to snap a quick photo and dig in, haha
What does the black sesame Basque cheesecake taste like? Even a chocolate lover fell for it

Forerest's black sesame Basque cheesecake (₩8,000) is nutty, sweet and dense. I'm a total chocoholic, so last time I had the chocolate Basque cheesecake, but this time I tried black sesame. I love chocolate, but I love black sesame too!!
Wow... this is seriously crazy.... If you go, you have to get the black sesame. It's so nutty, sweet and dense and so delicious that my hand kept going back for more. Personally, I like the black sesame Basque cheesecake more than the plain one, it's just my taste ><
Compared with the plain Basque cheesecake

Forerest's plain Basque cheesecake (₩7,500) is also really dense and moderately sweet, and it's delicious too. Wherever you go, you have to try the basic one first, right! I prefer the black sesame, but I can't give up the plain one either...♡ haha
Forerest photo spot: the big mirror at the entrance

There's a big mirror by the entrance of Forerest, which makes it perfect for photos. I was taking pictures for the blog while my sister teased me from the side, haha. Satisfied with Forerest again this time!!
