Soy milk powder for breakfast: Garuseonsaeng Seoritae
In short
Garuseonsaeng Seoritae is an individually packed black soybean soy milk powder I tried as breakfast during my commute and at work in Korea. It dissolved well even in cold water and tasted nutty without being chalky; the serving was small but more filling than I expected, and the portable sticks were the highlight.

What did I bring instead of breakfast on my commute?
I like sleeping in, so I often did not have time to prepare a meal while getting ready for work. If I went to work on an empty stomach, I would feel hungry all morning, so I looked for an easy breakfast replacement and tried Garuseonsaeng Mixable Raw Soy Milk Seoritae.

Because it comes in sticks that you mix with water, it was easy to carry several in my bag. Some days, I started at work with a cup of seoritae soy milk instead of coffee.

Does it dissolve well in cold water?
When I opened a stick, it contained pale seoritae powder. I simply put the powder and water in a paper cup and stirred, so there was almost nothing to prepare.

When I mixed it, it dissolved well in cold water as well as hot water. Even on hot days, I could drink it chilled without having to find hot water separately.

How are the ingredients and protein content described?
It is described as having just two ingredients: Korean seoritae and sea salt, with no artificial additives. I tend to check ingredients when choosing food, so I liked the simple composition.

The product is described as containing the whole soybean, from the skin to the soybean pulp, and as providing 8.1 g of plant protein per serving.
Is it nutty rather than chalky, and filling?
When I opened the package, there was a subtle, nutty aroma characteristic of seoritae. When I drank it, it did not feel chalky to me and went down cleanly.

The serving was not large, but it was more filling than I expected, so it worked well in place of breakfast. I also drank a cup instead of a snack when I got hungry in the afternoon.

When I craved a late-night snack, one cup was also good for easing my hunger. I thought it could work as a light option while dieting, too.
Can you adjust the taste by changing the amount of water?
Because it is a powder, I could adjust the amount of water to drink it either thick or smooth and light.

I prefer it thicker, so I used a little less water. Drinking it that way made the nutty flavor feel more pronounced.
Is it easy to bring to work or on trips?
The part I liked most was its portability. The individually wrapped sticks made it easy to bring only as many as I needed.

It was good to keep a few in my bag or desk drawer at work, and it was easy to bring when traveling as well.

I liked that I could mix it with water even while camping or traveling, when bringing refrigerated soy milk would be difficult. I had a cup easily during my commute or at work.

As someone who often skips breakfast, I found the nutty flavor and easy preparation suited me well. In particular, it was convenient to keep sticks in my bag and take one out whenever I needed it.

At the time of the original post, Olive Better announced that a special-price event for three varieties of Mixable Raw Soy Milk was scheduled from July 10 to July 19. No specific event prices were listed.
