While looking for a good sushi spot in Gyeongsan, I visited Sonsi Sushi Yeungnam University Main Branch (손시스시 영남대 본점). Since it's located near Yeungnam University, it's a great pick for anyone searching for a sushi restaurant near Yeungnam University.

What two people ordered at Sonsi Sushi and the total bill

This time at Sonsi Sushi Yeungnam University Main Branch, we ordered the value set for two, 12 pieces of premium aged nigiri, and a Zero Pepsi. The total came to 50,900 won.

The value set for two comes with 8 pieces of aged nigiri, a large katsuo udon, an aged vinegar sashimi rice bowl, and 4 pieces of shrimp tempura. If you like eating a variety of dishes rather than just sushi, this set was pretty satisfying. Most sushi restaurants in Gyeongsan usually just pair a sushi set with udon, but I liked that Sonsi Sushi lets you have sashimi rice bowl and shrimp tempura on top of that, all at once.

What comes in the Sonsi Sushi value set for two?

The value set was, true to its name, a combo that let us taste several dishes at once. Eating the aged sushi and then having warm katsuo udon in between worked really well together.

There's also the aged vinegar sashimi rice bowl, so anyone who likes rice-based dishes can eat plenty and feel full.

Four pieces of shrimp tempura were also included, which was nice for the two of us to share. With sushi, udon, sashimi rice bowl, and tempura all together, I thought this was a great set to pick if you want variety among Yeungnam University sushi restaurants in Gyeongsan.

Adding 12 pieces of premium aged nigiri

We didn't stop at just the value set — we also added 12 pieces of premium aged nigiri. If you love sushi, adding this menu on top was a great move. After finishing the sushi that came in the value set, moving on to the premium aged nigiri let us enjoy plenty of sushi.

Rather than just one type, we got to taste several kinds one after another, which made eating more fun. If you feel like the set alone might leave you wanting more sushi, adding the premium aged nigiri seems like a good fit.

Ordering by tablet at the table

We could check the menu and order using a tablet right at our seat, which was very convenient.

Since the menu was shown with photos, it wasn't hard to figure out the dishes even on a first visit. This place is great whether you're on a date or having a meal with friends around Yeungnam University, and especially good when you want to eat generously — sushi plus sides.

You can enjoy aged sushi along with sashimi rice bowl, cold soba, udon, and tempura all together — and out of everything we tried, the combination of the value set for two plus the 12-piece premium aged nigiri was our favorite.

Eating several dishes with the value set and adding more sushi with the premium aged nigiri meant the two of us could eat quite a lot.
