What is Sushi Ianen Nowon Station?

Sushi Ianen Nowon Station is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant near Nowon Station where every plate is a flat ₩1,990. I like sushi in general, so I was looking for a lunch spot near Nowon Station and went on a weekday lunch.

Lots of conveyor sushi places have opened lately, but I'd been curious about Sushi Ianen for a while because of that flat ₩1,990 price. It seemed like a place where you could try lots of kinds without stress. It's easy to find too, on the way from Nowon Station Exit 2 toward Culture Street.

They say Sushi Ianen Nowon Station runs without a break on weekdays, weekends and holidays. Since I came at weekday lunch, I worried about a wait, but the turnover was faster than I expected and we got in quickly.

It felt like a lot of office workers from nearby come at lunchtime, and I saw quite a few people eating solo or on dates too.

What are the seating and restrooms like?

Inside, the restaurant was roomier and cleaner than I expected. Besides regular tables there are seats good for eating alone and seating for bigger groups, so it looked fine for family, friends or couples.

Personally I care about restroom cleanliness when I eat out, and there's one at the back of the restaurant that was well kept, which I liked.

How does ₩1,990 flat-price conveyor sushi work?

The biggest feature of Sushi Ianen Nowon Station is that every plate is ₩1,990. At many conveyor sushi places now, prices vary a lot by plate, but here it's mostly one price, so picking freely felt easy on the wallet.

All kinds of sushi kept circulating on the rail, and if you don't see what you want, you can ask the staff and they'll make it right away.

They bring broth (jangguk) as soon as you sit down, and soy sauce, wasabi and pickled scallion (rakkyo) are self-serve. The sushi doesn't come with wasabi inside, so you can adjust it to your taste, which I liked.

The variety was better than I expected: several kinds of salmon, shrimp, yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), seared sushi and more. I prefer cooked sushi, so the garlic steak sushi and the flame-grilled items suited me. The rail also had fried items, desserts and fruit, which were nice for a change of taste between plates.

What is the before-12 weekday lunch cold soba event?

Before eating sushi at Sushi Ianen Nowon Station, we ordered cold soba (naengmomil) through the weekday lunch event for arriving before 12. It was ₩7,900, topped with slushy ice so it was properly cold, and the noodles were chewy.

The shrimp tempura on top was crunchy too, and it went well with the sushi and with the soba.

How do the garlic shrimp and salmon sushi taste?

Garlic shrimp sushi

My pick was the garlic shrimp sushi. The shrimp was plump and clean-tasting with no fishy smell, great for whetting the appetite. Shrimp lovers will be happy with it, and the garlic made it nuttier than regular shrimp sushi.

And the one I was personally happiest with was the salmon sushi~! Soft texture, great flavor, and it suited my taste so well that I ate a few more plates. It's the one I remember most.

Are there futomaki, side dishes and drinks?

Sushi Ianen Nowon Station also had futomaki (thick sushi roll), and it looked really big. It had real thickness, so even one piece felt filling, and with the fillings packed in, it seemed like one roll alone would leave you full.

There's also udon, fried items and alcohol, so it looked good for a light drink with sushi in the evening.
