Dog-friendly café in Paju for an Aussie Summer Latte: Pound Coffee

I visited Pound Coffee Unjeong Main Branch (파운커피 운정본점), a dog-friendly café in Paju Unjeong, with my dog! Since I go everywhere with my pup, whether a café allows dogs is the first thing I check :) I loved that Pound Coffee lets pets stay indoors, and the coffee and desserts were delicious too, which made it even more satisfying.

The Aussie Summer Latte I had was especially good: it came generously topped with Häagen-Dazs ice cream, while the latte itself was wonderfully nutty and rich. There was also a great selection of financiers, so if you are looking for a good latte in Unjeong, I recommend having dessert with it too!

Pound Coffee Unjeong Main Branch: location and parking

Pound Coffee Unjeong Main Branch is about a two-minute walk from Hanul Maeul Complex 2 bus stop, so it is not difficult to reach by public transportation either!

Is parking available?

If you are driving, you can park in front of the café! The parking area is not especially spacious, though, and the notice said it is limited to two cars per group. When you are out with a dog like I am, you often drive, so being able to park right in front was convenient.

If it is full or you arrive in several cars, you can use the nearby Health Park parking lot or roadside parking! If you are looking for a dog-friendly café in Paju Unjeong, keep in mind that there are not many parking spaces before you visit :)

Can dogs stay indoors?

The biggest reason I visited Pound Coffee! It is a dog-friendly café in Paju Unjeong where you can visit with your pet :) When I went, I was able to spend time comfortably indoors with my dog, and I loved that.

Especially when your dog is a little bigger, like ours, you tend to check the conditions more carefully when choosing a dog-friendly café. Just being able to stay together indoors felt like having one more option as a dog owner!

That said, this is a regular Unjeong café that welcomes pets rather than a dog café where dogs run around, so basic pet etiquette, including a leash, is essential!

A calm, sun-filled interior

The interior was clean and calm overall. Wood-toned tables and black chairs gave it a simple, uncluttered feel! It also gets lovely sunlight :)

It had a nice atmosphere for quietly resting over coffee, and being able to sit inside with my dog also meant we were less affected by the weather.

More than anything, the dessert display caught my eye, because there were quite a few kinds of financiers. I entered intending to have only coffee, but naturally ended up ordering dessert too :) It is an Unjeong café worth a visit if you like coffee and baked treats.

Financier varieties and prices

There were several varieties to choose according to your taste, including salty chocolate financier ₩3,500, salty caramel financier ₩3,500, hazelnut chocolate financier ₩3,500, and matcha soboro financier ₩3,500. A financier is a lovely accompaniment rather than having coffee alone, so I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good latte in Unjeong too :)

Trying the Aussie Summer Latte and financiers

I ordered the Aussie Summer Latte and a financier!

First, does the Aussie Summer Latte not look absolutely delicious!!! It is topped with Häagen-Dazs ice cream, and slowly melting the ice cream into the latte and drinking them together was seriously so good! I expected a simply sweet ice-cream latte, but the latte itself was rich and nutty, which was completely my taste.

I also loved how it became sweeter and smoother as the ice cream melted. This place really deserves its reputation for great lattes in Unjeong :) If you like lattes, try the Aussie Summer Latte at Pound Coffee.

A properly crisp financier texture

The financier I had with it was delicious too! Rather than a financier that is only soft on the outside, I like one that gives a proper crisp crunch when you bite into it, and Pound Coffee's financiers were exactly that style!

A sip of coffee followed by a bite of financier was such a good combination. There were so many varieties that next time, I would like to choose another flavor :)

Pound Coffee is a dog-friendly café in Paju Unjeong where you can spend time indoors with your dog and enjoy delicious coffee and desserts. The Aussie Summer Latte in particular was even better than I expected, so I will remember it as a great latte spot in Unjeong.
