Yeouido sushi bar for two: white fish set & daily sushi, Ilpum

I had errands in Yeouido and walked over to Ilpum Yeouido Branch (일품 여의도점), a sushi place near National Assembly Station. I was originally going to have the kaisendon (seafood rice bowl, which I haven't tried yet), but I ended up with sushi instead, and it was seriously so good. Let's go, Ilpum Yeouido story! I spotted the Seoul My Soul hot air balloon and took photos. It was floating way up high, but when I got closer it came down. I love Seoul so much~~~

Where is Ilpum Yeouido Branch? Hours and parking

Ilpum Yeouido Branch is at 25 Eunhaeng-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, in the B1 level of Anwon Building, a 5-minute walk from National Assembly Station Exit 3. It's open Monday to Saturday, 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM, with a break from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM, last order at 8:00 PM, and closed on Sundays.

Parking is apparently possible. I'm not sure about the details, but when I paid they asked if I had come by car. We finished our errands in Yeouido and walked, which took about 15 minutes, I think!?

The basement is packed with Japanese restaurants. Head downstairs, go in through the entrance, keep walking straight, and you'll see Ilpum Yeouido right there.

There were photos of celebrities and lots of autographs. The place is huge, right?

Inside Ilpum Yeouido Branch: counter seats, tables and do you need a reservation?

We got in at Ilpum Yeouido Branch without a reservation. They asked if we'd booked when we walked in, but walk-ins are totally fine~! The atmosphere felt upscale,,,

The two of us sat at the counter (dachi-seok). There are also roomy regular seats!!! Lots of autographs over there too. Total Yeouido sushi hotspot vibes.

Ilpum Yeouido Branch menu and prices

The signature dish at Ilpum Yeouido Branch is the kaisendon (₩26,000). There's also a premium kaisendon for ₩37,000, a whole eel bowl (unagidon) for ₩40,000, daily sushi for ₩28,000, a white fish sushi set for ₩33,000, salmon sushi for ₩28,000 and more.

The menu felt bigger than what I'd seen on Naver (maybe I didn't look properly before going). Kaisendon is the famous one, so I'd planned on kaisendon or the eel bowl plus the daily sushi.

In the end we ordered the white fish sushi set and the daily sushi. Sitting at the counter, watching the sushi being made was so fun that I filmed it too.

They were also running a Naver receipt review event. Two croquettes as a freebie!!! Probably delicious...!

What comes with the white fish sushi set and daily sushi?

We ordered one white fish sushi set, one daily sushi set (a hearty sushi meal) and one Coke Zero. The sushi sets come with chawanmushi (steamed egg) and clear soup as standard, like this.

The steamed egg was great quality. It had shrimp in it, and something else I couldn't identify (someone said it looked like ginkgo nuts). Anyway!!! I started with the protein, deliciously, and tried the soup too. The soup tasted like, well, soup!

The Coke Zero came out too. If you're wondering where the soy sauce is, press the button. Ready to eat!

Daily sushi at Ilpum: futomaki and udon included

The daily sushi!!! They gave us this platter of sushi plus a futomaki roll!!!

Generous, right? And while you're eating, they bring you udon too.

How did the sushi at Ilpum Yeouido Branch taste?

We shared the white fish sushi set and the daily sushi. The daily sushi was in front of me, so I started with the live fish sushi and wow, I was blown away. Officially a Yeouido sushi gem. Shrimp, then kimchi, then live fish!

That gimbap-looking thing is a tuna roll, but the best was the tuna sushi, not canned tuna (in my opinion).

Partway through they also brought udon as standard! Down it in one go before the tempura goes soggy.

Live fish sushi, tuna sushi, salmon sushi!!! I don't really like salmon, but the salmon sushi at Ilpum Yeouido Branch felt a little different from the salmon I usually eat!

Cleared!!! Put it in your mouth in one bite... failed. I ate until my stomach was about to burst.

Is Ilpum Yeouido Branch worth a return visit?

On the way out I snapped a photo of the kaisendon another customer had ordered.

The sushi at Ilpum Yeouido Branch was number one of all the sushi I've ever had. The sushi I ate before wasn't sushi (okay, not quite, but seriously every piece was so good). The atmosphere was great, the location is good, and it's also a nice place to eat solo in Yeouido. Kaisendon is the most famous, so give it a try. I found a Yeouido sushi restaurant that works for lunch, dinner or a date!!!
