Interior atmosphere at Samsin Garosu-gil

I went to Samsin, a brand new dim sum spot that just opened in Garosu-gil!! It has a really classy vibe with lots of rooms. The staff were super kind too, checking in on us the whole time — the service was great.

Where is Samsin Garosu-gil, and what are the hours, parking and corkage?

Samsin Garosu-gil is 370m — about a 5-minute walk — from Sinsa Station, right in Garosu-gil. Viewed from the front it looks like the 3rd floor, but from the side the entrance is actually the 2nd floor.

  • Sinsa-dong 536, 3rd floor, Gangnam-gu, Seoul
  • Sun–Thu 11:00–23:00 / Fri–Sat 11:00–24:00
  • Paid parking available
  • Corkage available

One unique thing — it's open from 11am every day! So the hours work for lunch, dinner, or a drink after. Paid parking is available, ₩5,000 for the first 120 minutes. Corkage is free if you order Course D or above, otherwise it's ₩20,000 per bottle! I'll introduce the free corkage event below too!

Outside and inside: the second and third floors at Samsin Garosu-gil

Exterior of the Samsin building tucked into Garosu-gil

Let's go! One block in from the main Garosu-gil street, you can see the sign on the 2nd floor. It's pretty big.

Stairs leading up to the entrance of Samsin Garosu-gil

This was a weekday evening visit. Go up one floor to the left of the sign and you'll easily find the entrance. Ta-da, right as you walk in this is the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor has a more modest feel, but the 3rd floor is the real main event!!

The 2nd floor has both hall seating and rooms. Really lovely atmosphere. Here's the inside of the restroom.

Head up to the 3rd floor and there's a huge space with lots of hall seats and rooms! The last photo is the 2nd floor hall seating, and the rest are all 3rd floor hall seats. Even the hall seats have really tall partitions, so it feels cozy, quiet, and private. The interior is so, so pretty!

How many private rooms does Samsin Garosu-gil have, and for how many people?

Samsin Garosu-gil has 5 rooms total, ranging from 2-seaters all the way up to 12-seaters, so if you need a room for something important, this beautiful, atmospheric room-style restaurant Samsin would be a great choice 🥰 The interior is REALLY pretty. Dates, important gatherings, important occasions, engagement meetings, parents' meetings — Samsin is a great-vibe room restaurant for all of that.

The menu is REALLY varied. Beyond the signature crab soup and xiaolongbao, there are all the standard Chinese restaurant dishes plus plenty of unique ones. Courses start at ₩25,000, so it's a nice, classy but reasonably priced spot for important gatherings, taking your parents out, or celebrating a birthday. I bet it'd be perfect with some gaoliang liquor too.

Handmade shrimp hagau, served in three pieces

This is the shrimp xiaolongbao (soup dumpling). When you bite in, the shrimp really bursts — proper flavor. Juicy and delicious haha. Comes in three pieces.

This is the signature handmade xiaolongbao. Only two photos but it comes in three pieces! So, so pretty. Packed with meat and the texture holds up really well — delicious. Especially since it's so pretty, it feels like you're eating with your eyes too, which I think everyone would love.

Samsin jjaptang rice loaded with seafood

This is the jjaptang rice (mixed seafood rice). It had a rich, upscale flavor, packed with fresh, varied seafood and vegetables. They also give you jjamppong broth on the side, and it was so, so good — next time I'd love to try the actual jjamppong. Loaded with all kinds of premium ingredients!

Tokyo tangsuyuk with butter being melted tableside

This is the butter tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), and it was incredibly crispy and delicious. When the dish comes out, the chef melts the butter right in front of you, and the bite of that fresh butter was just amazing haha.
