What's on the BYWAY BAKERS display: financiers, butter tteok and salt bread
I already knew of BYWAY BAKERS because my husband had bought financiers from them before. I knew it as a big bakery brand, but this was my first time actually visiting the café!
True to its reputation as a financier spot, they had a wide variety of financiers for sale. I tried the salty financier, and the chewy, sweet-and-salty texture was really good..!!

Besides that, they also sold croissants, butter tteok, and other kinds of bread. I grabbed a butter tteok because I wanted one!

The bagels and sandwiches looked good too... probably great with coffee haha.

BYWAY BAKERS is also known for its salt bread! The basic salt bread is ₩2,900, which is pretty good value.

They also had a variety of cakes, but the special item here is the wakppu salt bread..!! The packaging is cute too haha. Wakppu, slime, squishy toys, that kind of thing are trending right now, and they've applied that idea to food to make this wakppu salt bread..!! Grabbed one right away 😚

There's also a wide range of coffee menu items. My husband and I each ordered an iced Americano and a cold brew.
Seating at this large Yeongdeungpo café: group tables and a solo bar table

BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch definitely lived up to being a large café — the seating was spacious and comfortable.

A big group could sit together at one table in a single visit, no problem haha.

There are also solo seats like a bar table for smaller groups, which looked good for laptop work too.
How did the peach yogurt wakppu salt bread, butter tteok and coffee taste?

Ta-da..😚💛💛 here's what I ordered..!! Iced Americano, cold brew. Coffee that went perfectly with the sweet bread!! The cold brew was definitely richer in flavor.

Peach yogurt wakppu salt bread. The packaging was cute and the size was pretty big, so it was just right for my husband and me to share.

From the side you could see the shape of the salt bread, topped with white chocolate. And in the middle, there was even a cute peach jelly haha.
Wakppu 💛💛 it cracked in half with a satisfying snap. Inside was peach yogurt cream and peach. The peach was a crisp, firm variety, and it went really well! Refreshing, sweet, and with fresh fruit all coming together — such a fun menu item, honestly haha.

Butter tteok. My favorite, butter tteok, was chewy and soft and delicious. I'd like to come back for it again 🫶
Personally, I like salt bread that's slightly crisp on the outside but not too dry inside, and this wakppu salt bread was exactly that style. On the first bite, the butter flavor comes through first, followed by a salty note, and I kept reaching for more. Still, it wasn't too greasy or too salty, so it wasn't heavy at all.
It also went really well with coffee, and if I visit BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch again, I'll probably grab another wakppu salt bread! If you're looking for a good bakery and café near Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station, give BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch a try 👍
