Yeosu café with Vietnamese-bean coffee and coconut avocado ice cream

On the last day of my Yeosu trip I stopped by Isunsin Square and heard there was a café selling smoothies and ice cream made with fresh avocado, so I checked it out 🥑 The coffee, made with Vietnamese beans, was delicious too, and I came away having enjoyed some refreshingly fresh avocado ₊˚⊹

Where is Avocado Yeosu, and where can you park?

Avocado Yeosu is a café on Tongjeyeong 4-gil in Yeosu, South Jeolla Province, right next to Isunsin Square. It's open 9:00–22:00 and offers both takeout and dine-in.

Inside and outside Avocado Yeosu

Avocado Yeosu is located at Isunsin Square, an area with plenty of food stalls nearby, so it was easy to get to. Using the Jinnam Market, Jinnamgwan, or Isunsin Square lots gives you the first hour free, but if you visit during a holiday or weekend it can get so crowded you might have to park on the street instead.

As an avocado specialty shop that uses only fresh fruit, not frozen avocado, I was drawn right in. I'd also had really delicious avocado smoothies in Vietnam, so • • ❤︎

The entrance was full of avocados from the start — even a cute avocado plush and one of a capybara eating an avocado 🥑🥑🥑

Right next to the kiosk there's a free black-and-white photo booth, great for a little memento shot.

I took a shot with my mom while we were waiting.

You can also leave your printed photo up on the wall inside, and lots of people had left theirs behind like a guestbook!! It was fun browsing them while waiting for our drinks.

They're running a receipt review event with four items: a No-Face plush, dried mango, an avocado key ring, or coffee bean biscuits. There's no limit — you get one for each review you write, so keep that in mind ꔛ

The inside is a small space with only about six tables, but there are outlets you can use and a restroom in the store. It's decorated cozily with rattan and avocado touches, so it seemed like a nice spot to sit and rest for a bit ㆅ

Avocado Yeosu menu and prices: an honest review

The avocado café has everything from coffee to non-coffee avocado drinks, and apparently they use Vietnamese coffee beans. Since I like Vietnamese beans, I ordered an iced Americano, an avocado smoothie, and an avocado ice cream ₊˚⊹

Avocado smoothie and Vietnamese-bean iced Americano

They blend fresh avocado into the smoothie the moment you order. If you're trying avocado for the first time, I'd recommend the avocado smoothie!! You can really taste the natural flavor of the fruit, so even people who found avocado unfamiliar or not to their taste before can enjoy this without pressure. The Americano was made with Vietnamese beans too and it was delicious ☕️

And the avocado ice cream, which I enjoyed the most. It's topped with coconut chips and fresh coconut, and it tasted exactly like the avocado-plus-coconut ice cream I'd had in Vietnam. It was a total hit for my taste, and I ate every bit of it happily 🍨

Next time at Avocado Yeosu: avocado banh mi and bac xiu

The avocado banh mi is Vietnamese-style baguette with beef bulgogi, vegetables, and avocado slices — I was curious about it, but I was too full to try it that day ㅠㅠㅠ Since the café is apparently run by a Vietnamese local, I imagine it's delicious, so I'd like to try the banh mi and bac xiu next time I visit 🥖 You can add or leave out the cilantro when you order, so just order it to your taste!
