We were trying to figure out where to take the family for meat in Wonju, and landed on Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Wonju Enterprise City Branch! Five adults plus a nephew went together — the place is huge, with a big playroom too, so it was great for a family outing haha. Best of all, they have

a menu where you can enjoy several cuts at once, so we happily ordered it 🤣 If you're looking for a Wonju BBQ restaurant for a family gathering or group meal, here's my review after eating there!><

What are the dining room and playroom like?
We visited with family, parking was easy, and above all the restaurant was really spacious!!!

There were plenty of tables and rooms available, so it looked great for family gatherings, work dinners, or group meals. It seemed especially well suited to families with kids. There's also a large playroom here, perfect for visiting with children!

We went with five adults and one nephew, and I thought once he's a bit older he could really have a blast in there lol. The playroom also has CCTV installed, so parents can check on the kids while eating — that was a nice touch 👶🏻💕

You come for the meat, the kids play in the playroom, and the adults get to eat in peace — perfect for a family meal out haha. It had been a while since we all gathered as a family to eat and chat, and the time just flew by!!!
The menu: Hanmaeum's whole-animal platters
Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Wonju Enterprise City Branch has an all-cuts platter that lets you enjoy various cuts at once, which was especially great with several people. The menu is so varied you can pick according to taste, and if you're visiting in a group like we did, I'd recommend ordering the all-cuts platter!
Which cuts come on the 600g beef platter?
We ordered two things: the aged beef all-cuts platter 600g 🥩 and the aged pork all-cuts platter 1kg 🐷. The beef platter arrived first and it looked seriously generous.

Several cuts came arranged nicely on one plate, mouth-watering just to look at lol. And just as good as the meat were the generous banchan (side dishes)! Seasoned marinated crab, salad, potato salad, scallion salad with jjolmyeon (chewy noodles), pa-kimchi, cabbage kimchi, and more...

There were really so many kinds of banchan. The scallion salad especially came with jjolmyeon mixed in, and its tangy-spicy flavor went great with the meat.

The marinated crab was an extra order, and the other side dishes could be refilled. The self-serve corner had simple wrapping greens, myeongi namul (wild garlic leaves), various sauces, and garlic, so you could grab whatever you needed yourself!

And then we got down to grilling the beef... starting with chadolbagi (thin brisket), of course!!! Why is this so good ㅠㅠㅠ

With so many cuts, it was fun trying them one by one. The jingalbisal (rib finger) was tasty, the galbisal (short rib meat) was tasty, the bucheotsal (flat iron) was tasty~

Same beef, but each cut had a different texture, so it was fun picking through them all.
What's on the 1kg pork platter?
Once we'd demolished the 600g beef platter, the 1kg pork platter showed up next! The pork also came with several cuts — samgyeopsal (pork belly), ogyeopsal (skin-on belly), moksal (pork neck), hangjeongsal (pork jowl), and gabrisal — and we grilled them one by one.

Usually when you keep eating meat, you get fuller and fuller and the later cuts start feeling a bit much or less exciting lol

But here, each new cut felt exciting all over again, so I just kept eating. Oink oink 🐷 Even though I felt like I'd burst, I couldn't put my chopsticks down 🤣

Free-refill doenjang jjigae and doenjang sul-bap
And here's another thing I really loved! Doenjang jjigae is served as standard. I figured it'd just be a basic complimentary stew, but...

It was so good lol. Plus, there's a separate burner to keep it simmering, and the doenjang jjigae comes with unlimited refills! I thought they'd just refill the broth, but they generously added more solid ingredients too.
There was no resisting that... we added a bowl of rice and turned it into doenjang sul-bap (soybean stew rice) on the spot.

Meat, then doenjang sul-bap, then a drink or two... the side dishes just kept coming, and we nearly kept drinking forever lol 🍶

At this point you come for meat and end up with a full course! On the way out, we even got yogurt ice cream 🍦. Meat → doenjang jjigae → doenjang sul-bap → ice cream... dessert included, this was a complete meal haha.
Is Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang good for a family gathering?
Visiting Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Wonju Enterprise City Branch with family, my overall impression was that it's a great place to eat generously. Being able to try several cuts at once, like the beef and pork all-cuts platters, made it especially satisfying with a group!!
The variety of banchan and the self-serve corner where you could grab extra side dishes were both nice, and with unlimited doenjang jjigae refills plus dessert ice cream, we enjoyed everything from the meal to dessert 💕
Great for a family visit like ours, and just as good for a group of friends eating generously together! If you're looking for a Wonju BBQ restaurant where you can try a wide variety of cuts, check out Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang Wonju Enterprise City Branch 🥩 Next time I'd love to try even more cuts lol ><
