Inside Kitsuki: dog-friendly seating and solo dining
I made a reservation and got seated at a roomy table that would comfortably fit four people!

Kitsuki, with its vintage furniture and distinctive interior! The playlist is upbeat too, giving the whole place a hip vibe 💿 Since it's a Bamridan-gil spot that welcomes dogs, there were quite a few customers with their pets! I also noticed a fair number of people dining solo!

Kitsuki menu and prices
Ordering and payment at Kitsuki are both self-serve via kiosk! Signature menu items include fillet + cheese katsu, loin katsu, fillet katsu, perilla oil cream udon, and mala yupo udon. Prices sit in the low-to-mid ₩10,000s, so it's easy on the wallet.

What is Jirisan Berkshire K black pork?
Pork, eggs, and cabbage all sourced domestically! Uses premium Berkshire K
So what exactly is Jirisan Berkshire K... It's a breed developed by bringing Berkshire, the representative black pork breed, into Korea and refining it to suit Korean tastes in the hilly terrain along Jirisan, known for its clean water and air. With evenly distributed marbling, the meat is tender and moist, and the fat layer is savory with great flavor — apparently it's a premium grade of pork!

Even the side plates and cutlery colors are hip haha
How do the perilla oil cream udon, loin katsu and fillet katsu taste?
At Kitsuki I ordered three dishes: perilla oil cream udon, the loin katsu set, and the fillet katsu set.

The perilla oil cream udon is nutty and completely thick and rich thanks to the perilla oil. The udon noodles are really chewy, which makes it even tastier 😋 The mushrooms paired with the perilla oil deepen the flavor of the cream udon even more 🤎

Loin katsu made from Jirisan Berkshire K black pork loin! Oven-rested so it's soft and moist. It's thick, so the texture was fantastic too ❤️
Fillet katsu made from Jirisan Berkshire K black pork fillet! Great visuals too, and truly crispy outside, tender inside. The texture is very soft, with juicy meat that stays intact! You can tell the tenderness is different because they use good raw meat. Highly recommend if you like clean, tender katsu ✨

What comes with the set: rice, curry and soybean soup
Kitsuki's set menu comes with curry, rice, salt, hot mustard, demi-glace sauce, salt, diced radish kimchi, and seasoned fish roe. Salad dressing is placed at every table!

Freshly cooked, fluffy white rice packed in tight...❤️ It goes well whether you eat it with the miso soup or the curry. The miso soup is also so tasty, and it's refillable 😋 The curry that comes with the set is delicious mixed into rice, and just as good for dipping the katsu ✨✨

The best order to eat Kitsuki's katsu, and the verdict
The restaurant has a sign suggesting you eat the katsu in this order: salt ➡️ two drops of perilla oil ➡️ hot mustard ➡️ demi-glace sauce ➡️ seasoned fish roe, but honestly it's delicious no matter how you eat it 😋 Kitsuki, the Bamridan-gil tonkatsu spot, has great atmosphere and high food quality thanks to using Jirisan Berkshire K, so I left very satisfied 💕 Highly recommend it as a juicy, tender tonkatsu spot.
