Pork belly restaurant in Suyeong, Busan: Geobugi Dongne

After finishing our schedule in Busan, I stopped by Geobugi Dongne (거북이동네) Busan Namcheon Branch with two companions just before 8 p.m. We were there for pork belly and the spicy shabu-shabu set, and the spacious seating and separate area for children also caught my eye.

Are there seats and private rooms for family gatherings?

When I entered, the seating area felt spacious and open. Among the Geobugi Dongne branches I have visited, the Namcheon branch’s roomy interior stood out to me.

There were also separate private rooms. I thought they would be useful for a family meal where everyone could talk together.

What facilities are available when visiting with children?

On the way to the restroom, I found a children’s video room. Looking inside briefly, I saw a TV and sofas for children to sit on.

A large monitor in the middle of the restaurant also showed the inside of the video room. Since the room was separated from the dining area and its interior could be viewed on the screen, it seemed convenient for families with children. We visited as adults only this time, so I only looked over the facilities.

High chairs were available as well. With the spacious seating, private rooms, and these facilities, I felt it was worth considering for a family meal.

How do you get the side dishes?

After settling in, I picked up side dishes from the self-service bar. All side dishes were available this way.

What did three people order, and how much?

I remembered enjoying the shabu-shabu set before, so we chose the spicy shabu-shabu set again. The standard set included 300g of pork belly, and we added another 600g. The three of us ate 900g of pork belly in total.

One companion grilled the pork belly while another tended to the shabu-shabu. We cooked and ate the shabu-shabu alongside the grilling meat.

How was the pork belly with spicy shabu-shabu?

The golden-brown pork belly had no noticeable odor, with a crisp exterior and moist interior. Since it was late and we were very hungry, we focused on eating for a while.

As we ate the meat, broth with shabu-shabu vegetables simmered beside us. When I wanted something spicy after the rich pork belly, the broth and vegetables kept the meal from feeling too heavy, so it was nice to alternate between them.

How were the pot rice and kalguksu?

The sotbap (pot-cooked rice) had the nutty aroma and pleasant chewiness of freshly cooked rice. I topped it with a piece of pork belly, and the rice itself was good enough to eat on its own.

After transferring the rice to a bowl, I poured warm water into the pot and left it to make sungnyung (scorched-rice tea) for the end of the meal. Finishing with sungnyung after the meat was nice, too.

Although we were already very full, we added the remaining kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) to the shabu broth. After pork belly, shabu-shabu, pot rice, and kalguksu, all three of us were comfortably full.

Can you park if you drive?

Naver Place indicated that parking was available before my visit, but when I visited in late Aug 2026, I was told that parking support was unavailable because the contract with the parking lot had ended. At the time, I was told there was a paid parking lot about five minutes away.

I liked having pork belly with the spicy broth, and the price did not feel overly burdensome. The spacious interior and family facilities stayed with me, but if you are driving, it would be wise to check parking support in advance.
