Italian date in Seochon: mushroom cream gnocchi, Seochon Due Trattoria

I really found a great Western-style restaurant in Seochon..!! I had the tastiest gnocchi and lasagna in ages at Seochon Due Trattoria (서촌두에 뜨라또리아)!

Where is Seochon Due Trattoria, and how do you book?

Seochon Due Trattoria is on the 2nd floor at 6 Jahamun-ro 9-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul, 401 m from Exit 2 of Gyeongbokgung Station. It is open 11:30-21:00, with a break from 15:00 to 17:30 and last order at 19:45. There is no parking, so you will need a nearby public car park.

I booked through Naver (Korea's main search portal) before visiting. Course meals reportedly require a reservation, so keep that in mind!

Come out of Gyeongbokgung Station Exit 2 and walk about 10 minutes, and you'll see it right away. It's in a 2-story building, so it wasn't hard to find.

Is Seochon Due Trattoria a good date spot?

The entrance is prettily decorated with plants and the dining room feels calm, so it suits a date well. The plants caught my eye the moment I arrived.

Maybe it's because I'm a plant parent (식집사), but a space with this many plants puts my mind at ease. The calm mood put me in a good mood even before eating :) If you're looking for a date restaurant near Gyeongbokgung Station, I think you'll like the vibe right away!!

Inside, the staff guided us very kindly, and I loved that the table was already neatly set.

What we ordered at Seochon Due Trattoria and how much it cost

Signature potato gnocchi with oozing mushroom cream sauce

The signature potato gnocchi (₩25,000) is a dish where mushroom cream sauce flows out when you break the surface. When I first saw it, it looked a bit like a potato pancake (gamjajeon).

But when you crack it open, rich, thick mushroom cream sauce flows out, and with the nutty cheese and the chewy gnocchi texture it is so good 🥺 Seriously the best...!!! I've never had gnocchi this good. I can see right away why it's the signature dish ^.^

Fresh-pasta meat sauce lasagna

The meat sauce lasagna (₩25,000) that followed had really soft sheets, probably because the pasta is fresh, and with plenty of bolognese sauce and cheese between the layers, every bite was so good. My boyfriend said it was delicious too and practically inhaled it, haha.

Are the portions enough for two?

The two dishes, gnocchi and lasagna, were enough for the two of us. From the photos I worried the portions might be small, but not at all. We were quite satisfied and it was more filling than I expected.

Pistachio and chocolate ice cream for dessert

The ice cream (₩5,000) came in pistachio and chocolate flavors, and I'd seen it in reviews and really wanted to try it. The owner thoughtfully prepares it as your meal winds down! Just like in the photos, so pretty 🫢

The green one was pistachio and the rest was chocolate. Under the ice cream was a layer of crunchy topping like the coating on a Dwaejibar (a Korean ice cream bar), and the crispy texture went really well with it. It was so good that I scraped up every last bit, ohhh yeah
