A Gomori café in Pocheon to stop at after a Gwangneung Arboretum drive

While planning a drive out toward Pocheon, I figured I'd check out Gwangneung Arboretum and also find somewhere to rest with a coffee, so I stopped by Geurine Oasis — I'd heard the desserts were good and the outdoor seats have a pretty reservoir fountain view~

What I especially liked was that there's a reservoir right in front of the café, with a walking path leading along it, so it felt less like a place to just grab coffee and leave, and more like somewhere to spend time in nature~

Inside Geurine Oasis: main building, annex, fire-gazing zone and dog run

Geurine Oasis is split into a main building and an annex. You order drinks and bakery items at the main building, and there's also an annex, a fire-gazing zone, an outdoor zone, and a dog run

There were plenty of seats, so it was relatively easy to find a spot even with a lot of people around~ The interior was in warm beige and brown tones overall, which felt comfortable, and you could see out to the scenery from the window seats haha. The tables weren't crammed together either, so it looked like a good place to visit with family or friends!

Another plus of Geurine Oasis is that you can bring your dog~ There are treats for dogs and a separate space for them to run around, which makes it especially good for people planning a Pocheon outing with their pet haha

Browsing the display case, it's not just the delicious-looking breads that catch your eye — the cakes stand out too~

There was a wide range of options, from rich, dense desserts like chocolate cake, cheesecake, and tiramisu-style cakes to lighter, plainer baked goods!

The outdoor fire-gazing zone and the drink menu

You can build a campfire in the outdoor area, so apparently visiting after the sun sets gives a completely different vibe from daytime~ Even during my daytime visit, I could see the outdoor seating was quite spacious, and at night with the lighting and fire-gazing added, the mood would probably shift a lot more haha

Besides coffee, the menu had a good variety — lattes, ades, highballs, non-coffee drinks, and homemade cream cheese. The affogato in particular looked delicious and had a great look to it~

Visiting with kids: the children's drink menu

If you're planning to visit the café with kids, it was nice that there's a separate kids' drink menu~ For kids' drinks there's Sangha Farm organic milk 200ml for ₩5,000, along with Hachuping strawberry, peach, and apple, and Pororo strawberry, milk, and shine muscat — drinks kids already know and love

When you're looking for a large café to visit with kids, this one is easier to choose than places with menus geared mainly toward adult coffee drinkers~

What does the frozen cornet milk taste like?

What I picked was the frozen cornet milk pastry haha. It's a long, rolled pastry with soft milk cream inside, and the outside had a light dusting of sugar powder that made it look really tasty!!

When I cut it in half, you could see the layered pastry texture, with white cream inside haha. The crispy, lightly crumbly texture paired with the soft milk cream went great alongside coffee!

The iced americano and dark chocolate latte

The drinks I ordered were an iced americano and a dark chocolate latte! The iced americano was a clean drink that went well with the bakery items, and sipping it between bites of sweet bread gave my mouth a little reset each time.

The dark chocolate latte was a good match for anyone who likes a sweet, rich chocolate flavor haha. True to a chocolate-based drink, it felt good to enjoy like a dessert, so I'd recommend it if you like sweet menu items~~

And the first thing that caught my eye after picking up my drinks at Geurine Oasis was the reusable cup~ The green lid really stood out, and the cup design was unique enough that I ended up taking several photos~~ It genuinely looked great in hand against the café's atmosphere too!!

Personally, what I liked most about Geurine Oasis was the scenery outside haha. There's a reservoir right in front of the café, so it was a nice spot for a light walk after finishing my drink~

You can watch the fountain rise up over the water, and with green trees and mountains stretching out around it, you end up naturally reaching for your phone to take photos while walking!! I felt this place has a different appeal depending on who you are — whether you're looking for a large Pocheon bakery café, want to spend relaxed time with family there, or want to spend time with your dog there!!
