No-wait weekday lunch at a Hapjeong Station pizzeria: Pizzeria O
In short
Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station is a wood-fired Italian pizzeria near Exit 2 of Hapjeong Station in Mapo, Seoul, that bakes dough aged for more than 48 hours in its wood-fired oven. On a weekday lunch visit there was no wait, and the order was the signature O'Pizza, the Gamberi Rosé Crema pasta and a carbonara. Thanks to the chewy, soft aged dough, Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station made a far more special meal than everyday pizza and pasta.

On a weekday lunch I wanted something a little more proper than usual, so I headed to Pizzeria O in Hapjeong! Pizza and pasta are everywhere, but when a place cares about everything from dough aging to where the cheese comes from and what goes into the sauce, the whole meal feels different~ Here's my review of the dishes where classic Italian charm meets Pizzeria O's own know-how!!

Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station hours and parking
Pizzeria O Hapjeong is at 14-5 Yanghwa-ro 11-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, on the 1st floor. It's open Tue–Sat 11:00–21:30, with last order at 20:30. Break time is 15:00–17:00, but there's no break on weekends, and it's closed every Monday. Takeout, delivery and dine-in are all available!
It was fairly quiet at weekday lunch, so we got a seat right away with no wait! There's no dedicated parking, so use a nearby paid lot, or park at the nearby Homeplus, where the first 30 minutes are free.

Near Hapjeong Station, with a date-friendly atmosphere
It's about a 3-minute walk from Hapjeong Station Exit 2, so it's easy to reach! A good one to remember when you're planning a lunch around Hapjeong Station or want to eat somewhere with a nice atmosphere.
The space is clean and comfortable, suited to a couple's date and just as well to a lunch with friends. It isn't overly formal, yet you can still expect well-finished food, which I really liked!!

What ingredients does Pizzeria O use?
Pizzeria O pursues authentic flavor combined with something new, carefully selects its ingredients and bakes its pizzas in a wood-fired oven! What impressed me most was that the dough is aged for 48+ hours, since well-aged dough is a key factor in a pizza's texture and flavor~
On top of that, ricotta, fresh arugula, cherry tomatoes and Grana Padano come together; the arugula is delivered chilled every day, and they insist on DOP buffalo cheese from Campania, Italy and premium Italian Grana Padano. So I was really looking forward to the pizza!!
Today's picks: the signature O'Pizza; the carbonara, made with the house special recipe, egg yolk and soft fresh cream in a fantastic balance; and the Gamberi Rosé Crema pasta, made with Pizzeria O's own bisque sauce simmered for hours with shrimp and crab!!

How does the signature O'Pizza taste? The aged dough makes it
O'Pizza is the signature wood-fired pizza with ricotta, tomato and arugula, and its charm is not just the richness of the cheese but how all the ingredients come together. The soft ricotta, the freshness of the tomato and the fragrance of the arugula make for a well-balanced taste!
Fresh from the oven, the dough was honestly the real kicker, not just the toppings. The aged dough baked in the wood-fired oven was extra chewy yet so soft!! If you're looking for a Hapjeong pizza spot, I really recommend Pizzeria O Hapjeong!!!

Is the Gamberi Rosé Crema pasta too rich?
The Gamberi Rosé Crema uses Pizzeria O's own bisque sauce, simmered for hours with seafood like shrimp and crab, and it wasn't heavy at all. The sauce captures the deep savoriness of the seafood, so it's rich yet fresh and not cloying!
The softness typical of rosé sauce plus the seafood flavor made it a really good match with the O'Pizza.

Free-range egg carbonara paired with O'Pizza
The other dish we ordered was the carbonara~ Pizzeria O's carbonara brings out flavor with the shop's special recipe plus egg yolk and soft fresh cream!!
When the richness of the egg meets the smooth texture of fresh cream, the sauce gets even fuller, and it pairs nicely with the plain-tasting pizza!! Ordering the signature pizza and the carbonara together lets you alternate between different flavors, which made it even tastier and very satisfying~

A no-wait weekday lunch with three dishes: final verdict
Enjoying a weekday lunch with O'Pizza, carbonara and Gamberi Rosé Crema, I liked that I could expect the harmony of cheese and vegetables from the signature pizza, the charm of a smooth sauce from the carbonara, and the deep seafood flavor from the Gamberi Rosé Crema! With good ingredients and care from dough aging to wood-fired cooking, it was a much more special meal than the pizza and pasta I usually eat!!!

Pizzeria O Hapjeong Station is great for a Hapjeong lunch or date, and I'd recommend it for days when you want a relaxed Italian meal too. On a day I wanted a slightly nicer weekday lunch, tasting the signature dishes at Pizzeria O Hapjeong was so satisfying that I think I've truly fallen for authentic Italian cooking!!
