I went with my husband, who loves meat, and the staff grilled everything for us from start to finish, so we could just relax and eat. The pork neck was far more tender than I expected, so it's the part I remember most and I'm happy to recommend it 😉

Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul is a clean, tidy BBQ restaurant with nicely spaced tables. The clean look caught my eye the moment I walked in.

The tables are spaced out generously, so it never felt cramped while we ate, and it looks like a good pick for a family meal or a company dinner.

On the day I visited, there were all kinds of guests, from families to friends to office groups. The staff greeted us brightly and took care of whatever we needed quickly, so we started the meal in a good mood.

Isn't Jirisan black pork neck dry?

The pork neck here was really tender and juicy, more than I expected. I tried the pork neck first, and it was honestly so soft.

Pork neck can sometimes feel dry, but this one kept its moist texture, and the more I chewed, the more nutty, savory flavor I tasted.

The thickness was just right for the texture, and the juices were well kept. I also liked that the staff watched the meat as they grilled, so we could enjoy it at its best.

Personally, the pork neck was what I remembered most from that day's menu.

How was the pork belly?

The pork belly was golden and had a lovely savory flavor. After the pork neck, I tried the pork belly too. It looked so appetizing, golden brown, and with one bite the savory flavor filled my mouth.

It went well with the wrap vegetables and with the side dishes too. I could enjoy the pork neck's clean taste and the belly's richness together, so I was glad we ordered the set.

Free steamed egg, muksabal and naengmyeon too

That day, steamed egg, muksabal and naengmyeon came out free. The meat alone was filling enough, but then the steamed egg, muksabal and naengmyeon came as a service. The steamed egg was fluffy and soft, great with the meat, and it came out warm, which made it even better.

The muksabal had a lovely cold broth. A spoonful between bites of meat left my mouth feeling fresh, so I kept going back to it.

And of course, the naengmyeon at the end can't be skipped. A bite of meat followed by a bite of naengmyeon was a great combination, and it rounded off the meal nicely. Even though it was a free item, the portion wasn't small and it didn't feel half-hearted, which I loved.
