We were out near Anseong Farm Land and went looking for a large café with a nice atmosphere, and ended up at Chat Baker! It's really big, and with bread, bingsu (Korean shaved ice) and brunch all on offer, it was a place where you could happily stay for hours haha

How far is it from Anseong Farm Land, and what about parking?
Chat Baker is a large bakery café in Gongdo-eup, Anseong, and it's a short drive from Anseong Farm Land, so it fits perfectly as a stop on the same outing! The parking lot is also huge, so you can park comfortably even on weekends :)

There was also a Korean consumer-industry award displayed at the entrance, which made me even more excited before we even went in haha

Floor-to-ceiling windows, a water feature, and 500 pyeong over two floors
The first thing that caught my eye on walking in was the water feature running along the floor-to-ceiling windows! It feels cool and grand at the same time, and photos come out really well ✨

The first floor is very spacious with a modern feel. It's clean and upscale, so it's easy to relax, and the seats are spaced far apart so it never feels stuffy haha Honestly, I usually don't expect much from the interiors of big cafés like this, but every detail here was so pretty. This was a large café in the Pyeongtaek–Anseong area that really delivered ✨
The second floor was really big too! True to a 500-pyeong bakery café, it has all kinds of seating and photo spots everywhere, so just looking around was fun ♥

Chat Baker menu: brunch, pasta and bingsu
Besides drip coffee, there are lots of other coffees and drinks, plus brunch, pasta, risotto and bingsu, so this large café in Pyeongtaek–Anseong looked great for a proper meal too -!

The cakes all looked so pretty haha There are many kinds of sliced cake, and they even sell whole cakes, and every one of them looked special?! My next birthday cake is going to be from here ..♥

A bread display with 80+ kinds
And then there's the bread display that makes a bread lover's eyes spin T_T There are so many kinds that I couldn't fit them all in one photo,,? They say they make more than 80 kinds of bread fresh every day, and the variety was huge: salt bread, baguettes, ciabatta, pastries, plus butter tteok (rice cake), scones and baked sweets - if you like bread, you'll spend a long time just browsing haha

I noticed later that they sell sliced sandwich bread too? That would be nice to take home, haha
There's also an LP display corner, and it's a proper photo spot, hehe. Judging from a poster, they seem to hold jazz performances in the café from time to time? Coming during a performance would probably be a really nice atmosphere!

At the ordering counter there was sample castella (Japanese-style sponge cake), and it was moist and delicious too hahaha I wondered whether to grab one more, but I was too full and held back ..

What we ordered and the prices
- ☕ Americano ₩5,900
- 🍧 Snow red bean bingsu ₩18,000
- 🥐 Almond kouign-amann ₩5,500
- 🧈 Ang-butter salt bread ₩4,900
Today's menu looked wonderful from the very first glance ♥

Americano ₩5,900: choosing the Champagne acidic beans
Chat Baker, which even offers hand drip, is serious about coffee. Even if you order a regular coffee, you can choose your beans: nutty, acidic or decaf. I picked the Champagne acidic beans, and I could faintly taste grape, cherry and chocolate notes, so the coffee alone was fragrant and delicious!

Snow red bean bingsu ₩18,000: a summer treat with a surprising size
And the summer must-order, snow red bean bingsu ♥ It's shaved snow ice topped with top-quality red beans and soft rice cakes, and I was amazed at how big it was,,, At that size, ₩18,000 felt like good value,,, They also gave us individual bowls, so it was easy to share haha

The red beans were still whole and the rice cakes were super soft and chewy, so I kept going back for more haha On top of the fluffy milk snow ice,, I found out while eating that there's granola inside too, which gave a crunchy, nutty texture that was really good!

Almond kouign-amann ₩5,500, ang-butter salt bread ₩4,900
Every bread looked so tempting it was hard to choose haha These are the two I picked after holding myself back as much as I could ,,,haha

I'm hooked on kouign-amann (a caramelized buttery pastry, called queen-amann in Korea) lately, you see. The almond kouign-amann is crisp outside and full of butter flavor inside! It's loaded with almonds on top too, so it was nutty and sweet in a really good way haha

At Chat Baker, the Anseong bakery café, the salt bread itself is really tasty, and the butter and red bean quality is good too, so the combination was the best. It's salty and sweet at once and goes really well with coffee haha I bet the plain salt bread is amazing too!
Would I recommend it as part of an Anseong Farm Land outing?
If you're looking for a large café with a nice atmosphere near Anseong Farm Land, I really recommend Chat Baker! It was a roomy, stylish place to relax, and the fresh-baked bread, coffee and bingsu all satisfied. haha Next time I'd like to come back for the brunch menu too ♥
