Sadang Station bar for after-work drinks in Seoul: Jindallae Silbi
In short
Jindallae Silbi Sadang Branch is a retro Korean bar and cooking pub on the second floor of a building five minutes' walk from Exit 7 of Sadang Station in Dongjak, Seoul. Two of us came straight from work and ordered the 39,000-won-per-person Jindallae course (Samchon Kase) of 15 dishes, working through abalone porridge, boiled pork, a seafood steamer, Wando flounder sashimi, pork cutlet, grilled fish and chive pancake, and left before the final spicy fish stew arrived because of another appointment. Jindallae Silbi is worth booking for group dinners and work outings where everyone wants to try a bit of everything.

There's a Samchon Kase (uncle's course) place near Sadang Station that I love, so I went back after a while — and yep, still delicious.

What's really great about this place is that the food just keeps coming — meat, sashimi, pancakes, spicy stew, all sorts, so there's something for everyone's taste! This is the Sadang spot I wanted to keep to myself, but I'm revealing it today ღ

The place I'm introducing today is Jindallae Silbi Sadang Branch, which is actually pretty famous as a Sadang after-work drinking spot for group dinners.
Inside Jindallae Silbi: retro bar interior with 90s Korean songs

The place is on the 2nd floor of the building, and the entrance is full of retro, vintage energy — it felt like stepping back in time.
Inside is spacious with lots of tables, perfect for group get-togethers or work dinners. 90s songs were playing too, bringing back all the nostalgia (ᵕ ᵕ)♩
There are retro props scattered all over the place, so it's perfect for anyone who loves that old-school bar feel, and the open kitchen made it feel trustworthy hygiene-wise too!

On top of that, the restroom is inside the restaurant, so it's convenient to use. Perfect as a group bar spot for the Sadang/Isu area ღ
Menu and prices: 39,000 won for 15 dishes or 20,000 won for 6 after 8pm

The menu is the Jindallae course (Samchon Kase), which comes with 15 dishes for ₩39,000 per person. There's also a course available after 20:00 with 6 dishes for ₩20,000 per person. Since we came straight from work, we went with the ₩39,000 course.

What comes with the 39,000-won 15-dish Jindallae Samchon Kase course
Once you order, six dishes get set up all at once — seriously, it was insanely generous right from the start.

Abalone porridge, sausage, soy-marinated crab, japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), yeondu-ju (rice wine), spicy cartilage with rice balls — that alone felt like enough to fill you up, and the main dishes hadn't even come out yet (˙ỏ˙)

The quality of the food was genuinely good — the abalone porridge especially, loaded with sesame oil and really nutty and delicious ˃̵ࡇ˂̵. The sausage tasted like childhood nostalgia, and the spicy cartilage had just the right kick, so our chopsticks never stopped moving.

First main: suyuk (boiled pork slices)
Then the first real main dish came out — moist boiled pork (suyuk). Topping the tender, glossy pork with garlic and chili, plus the kimchi that came alongside, was so good it turned this place into a bossam (boiled pork wrap) restaurant on its own.

Seafood steamer with a whole squid
The next main dish was a seafood stew, generously packed with scallops, squid, shrimp, and fish.
Squid is basically gold these days, so I was genuinely moved to see a whole, fresh, plump squid in there ◟⁽ˆᵕˆ ⁾⸜

Sashimi from a 4kg Wando flounder, plus salmon
And then — my favorite — sashimi showed up. Just look at the color of the flounder and salmon, TT. The quality was insane.
Apparently they only use flounder from Wando's sea, big fish around 4kg. Getting this in a ₩39,000 course is unbelievable value!
Topped with aged kimchi that comes alongside, this place turns into a sashimi restaurant too — bossam spot, seafood spot, sashimi spot, this place does it all. Sadang restaurant, mic drop!

Pork cutlet, grilled fish and buchujeon (chive pancake)
Even though I was already stuffed, the pork cutlet came out crisply fried too. The course balances sashimi and meat so well, which made it even more satisfying ღ

Then grilled fish showed up — I love grilled fish, and this one had really moist, well-cooked flesh. The seasoning was just right, so I really enjoyed it.

And wait, more food?? — the chive pancake. Packed with squid, and crispy too.
And apparently that wasn't even the end — a spicy fish stew was supposed to come last, but we had another appointment, so we had to leave without trying it, TT.

The dalgona (honeycomb candy) game at Jindallae Silbi
We also tried the dalgona game, which was way harder than expected. I ended up shattering my star shape, but it brought back so much nostalgia and was really fun ꈍ◡ꈍ
Why Jindallae Silbi works for group dinners in Sadang and Isu
Honestly, there's no dish this owner can't cook well. If you want to enjoy a bunch of different dishes at once, just come here, no questions asked.
The seats are spacious, the vibe is great, and the prices are super reasonable, so if you're looking for a spot for a group gathering or work dinner, I'd strongly recommend Jindallae Silbi Sadang Branch.
Hope everyone has a satisfying Sadang group dinner and drinks!
