A Sokcho bar that nails everything from tomato mulhoe to onsuyuk bossam

Traveling around Sokcho, you sometimes want a place to have a light drink while looking out at the sea. This time I visited Seo Jubang, which I found near Sokcho Lighthouse Beach.

It's about a 3-minute walk from the beach, so it was great to visit after a stroll along the shore, and since it's open until late, it was also good for an easygoing drinking session while traveling.

The onsuyuk bossam I tried this time was especially memorable — a warm broth-based dish that suits a day with a cool sea breeze.
Since you can enjoy mulhoe (raw fish in cold broth) along with a variety of cooked dishes, this Sokcho bar is also a good fit for anyone looking for a group dinner spot on Sokcho's pocha (tented bar) street.

How many people fit comfortably at Seo Jubang's group tables?
Seo Jubang has a spacious layout, so visiting with a larger group didn't feel like a burden.

The space between tables is fairly generous, making it work well not only for gatherings with friends but also for family get-togethers or larger work dinners. This is a spot worth remembering if you're looking for group seating along Sokcho's pocha street.

Being open until late was another plus. Since it runs until 4am, it's handy if you want to enjoy Sokcho's nightlife late or need a place for a second round. I also liked that the restrooms are separate for men and women, which made things convenient. If you're looking for group seating on Sokcho's pocha street, considering both the spacious layout and the late hours, this was a solid choice.

Tomato mulhoe: how is it different from regular mulhoe?
One of the menu items I was most looking forward to at Seo Jubang was mulhoe. The tomato mulhoe in particular felt pretty unique the moment I first encountered it, and after tasting it, the phrase 'rediscovering tomato' really fit.
It came piled high with starry flounder sekochi (thin-sliced raw fish) and various vegetables, and eating it with the tangy, cool broth was a better combination than I expected. It definitely has its own character compared to typical mulhoe, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an unusual bar food in Sokcho.

Being close to the beach, it's also nice to enjoy cool mulhoe and draft beer after a walk along the shore. If you're looking for mulhoe at a Sokcho bar, this is a place worth remembering for something a little different.

What is onsuyuk bossam, the boiled pork served with broth?
Another menu item I particularly liked on this visit was the onsuyuk bossam.

When you think of bossam, you usually picture warm meat served with kimchi and the like, but Seo Jubang's onsuyuk bossam is enjoyed together with broth, which made it suit drinking even more. Eating a warm, broth-based dish by the sea with a cool breeze blowing fit the travel mood really well.

Seo Jubang's Sokcho drinking set lets you pick one item from options including onsuyuk bossam, boiled squid, steamed red king crab, and abai sundae, so when visiting with several people, there's also the fun of choosing the menu together.

On top of that, apparently boiled squid is provided if you participate in the Naver receipt review event, so that's worth keeping in mind. Being able to enjoy a variety of dishes together made it a satisfying spot for bar food in Sokcho.

Why Seo Jubang works for a group dinner on Sokcho's pocha street
When you're with a larger group, the range of menu options and the amount of space matter a lot. Seo Jubang has a spacious store with group seating, which looked like a good fit for various occasions — friend gatherings, family get-togethers, or work dinners.

Unlike a typical bar, the range of cooked dishes is wide, so it felt more like a place to enjoy a proper meal alongside drinks rather than just drinking.

If you're looking for a spot to bring a larger group while traveling in Sokcho, this worked well as a group dinner place on the pocha street, and having group seating on Sokcho's pocha street was a definite plus.

Red Rock draft beer at Seo Jubang, and a Sokcho date night
Seo Jubang's atmosphere felt good not just for a loud gathering with friends but also for a visit as a couple. I especially liked that the beach is only about a 3-minute walk away, good for a stroll before or after eating.
Taking a slow walk along the beach and then heading to Seo Jubang for a cool glass of Red Rock draft beer made for a pretty unique stretch of time on a Sokcho trip. So for couples, this seems like a good Sokcho date spot, and for anyone looking for something a bit more special, an unusual date spot in Sokcho too. If you're after a Sokcho bar with a good atmosphere where you can combine a beach walk, tasty bar food, and draft beer all in one, this should be quite satisfying.

Seo Jubang felt less like a simple pocha for just drinking and more like a proper Korean-style bar where you can taste a variety of dishes. From the unique tomato mulhoe to onsuyuk bossam, boiled squid, steamed red king crab, and abai sundae, there was a wide range of menu items that let you feel the local Sokcho mood. If you're looking for something other than the usual food on a Sokcho trip, picking an unusual bar dish here is a good idea. Being able to enjoy good food and drinks so close to the sea gave it a particular charm as a Sokcho cooking-and-drinking spot.

Open until 4am: Seo Jubang as a late-night second round
Since Seo Jubang is open until 4am, it suits anyone spending late hours in Sokcho. It's especially good to visit after a beach walk and dinner, when you want to keep drinking a bit later, or on the last night of a trip when you want just one more round.
Having separate restrooms for men and women was also convenient for a bar where you might stay a while. With the relaxed atmosphere typical of a pocha street combined with a wide range of cooked dishes, it seemed to work well not just for travelers but as a local gathering spot too. The wide group seating and varied menu made this a memorable spot on Sokcho's pocha street.

Seo Jubang near Sokcho Lighthouse Beach: final verdict
What stuck with me most from this visit to Seo Jubang was, unsurprisingly, the tomato mulhoe and the onsuyuk bossam. The tomato mulhoe in particular taught me that tomato can pair this well with mulhoe, and the combination of the generous starry flounder sekochi, vegetables, and cool broth was satisfying.
The onsuyuk bossam had a different charm from the mulhoe — a warm broth dish good for enjoying when there's a cool sea breeze. Being only about a 3-minute walk from the beach meant I could stroll along the shore before or after the meal, and being able to pair it all with Red Rock draft beer was a plus too.
It suits a wide range of occasions, from gatherings with friends to family meals, work dinners in Sokcho, or a date with a partner. If you're looking for a good restaurant, bar, or place for bar food near the sea in Sokcho, Seo Jubang is worth remembering — especially for anyone looking for a spot on Sokcho's pocha street with wide group seating.
Finally, if you want to enjoy a cool draft beer, an unusual mulhoe, and warm onsuyuk bossam after a walk on the beach, give Seo Jubang a try for a group dinner or group seating on Sokcho's pocha street.
