Isn't the weather so hot lately that you've got no appetite and no energy? 😭 When that happens, I'm firmly of the opinion that you need a hearty bowl of meat! 🙋♀️ Today I'm introducing a Gangnam-gu Office Station lunch spot I visited: Gogigadeuk Deopbap Gangnam-gu Office Station branch (고기가득덮밥 강남구청역점).
What is Gogigadeuk Deopbap Gangnam-gu Office Station branch like?

It's an aged-meat rice bowl (deopbap) restaurant serving rice bowls, udon and mazesoba (Japanese-style dry noodles with sauce). The sign saying "aged meat rice bowl restaurant" catches your eye right away, and the wide choice on the menu is another plus!! It's close to Gangnam-gu Office Station, so it's perfect for office workers' lunches :)

Atmosphere and eating alone
The inside is clean and cozy, and the size feels comfortable for solo diners, so plenty of people were eating alone. Look at the big menu posters on the wall: mackerel rice bowl, mazesoba, pork neck steak rice bowl... just looking at them makes my mouth water 🤤

How to order and the receipt review event
You can order easily with the QR code on the table. When I sat down I noticed a guaranteed-win gift event: leave a Naver receipt review and you win something every time, from a ₩50,000 voucher for 1st prize to drinks or 2 pieces of karaage. It'd be a loss not to do it, haha
What comes in the pork neck steak rice bowl set?

The set comes neatly arranged on a tray, one portion each: rice bowl, udon, karaage and 4 side dishes. I ordered the pork neck steak rice bowl and my friend got the beef belly rice bowl. Getting it all on a single tray is really impressive. Looks filling just from the picture, right?

The taste of the 72-hour aged pork neck steak rice bowl
Thick pork neck glossy with dark brown sauce, topped with yellow scrambled egg, pink pickled ginger and shishito peppers. The colors alone set off my appetite 💥 They say the pork neck here is aged for a full 72 hours. No wonder the flavor is so deep!!

Lift the steak with your chopsticks and it's seriously shiny. The special sauce has soaked right into the meat, so the savory depth is great. The sweet-salty balance is wonderfully done! I like shishito peppers, and the steak goes really well with the crunchy, slightly spicy peppers! A delicious combo ☺️

Eating it together with the scrambled egg and pickled ginger gave a harmonious flavor and nutritional balance that I loved! The toppings are varied and generous, which is great.

Rice, meat, scrambled egg, pickled ginger and wasabi, all in one bite! A little wasabi on top cuts the richness so you can keep eating forever, haha. A Gangnam-gu Office Station spot where you can load up on protein. Highly recommended!

4 side dishes and karaage
The set's 4 sides are neat: rakkyo (pickled scallion bulbs), mustard leaf kimchi, pickled radish and wasabi. Fitting for a Japanese-style rice bowl place, the sides are tidy. The chicken karaage (Japanese-style fried chicken) that came with it was really good too.
What does the beef belly rice bowl set taste like?

The beef belly rice bowl is thin-sliced beef belly stir-fried with onions in a little sauce and piled on rice. This one is my friend's! The garlic aroma drifting up made my mouth water, haha

A big scoop with plenty of beef belly on the rice! The tender, savory seasoning of the beef is a perfect match with the rice. A different charm from the pork neck steak rice bowl!

Chicken thigh karaage that comes with the set
The karaage that comes with the set is made with chicken thigh, so it's still juicy. Look at the cross-section: crispy outside, moist inside! Only two pieces, but they make an impact :)

Choose udon or cold soba as your set noodles
With the set you can choose between cold soba (buckwheat noodles) and udon. I went with udon. The noodles were springy and the broth refreshing~ A Gangnam-gu Office Station spot with really good value!
Gogigadeuk Deopbap Gangnam-gu Office Station branch: the wrap-up
This is a proper rice bowl restaurant where the deep flavor of aged meat really comes through. Everything arrives neatly on a tray, one portion each, so it's great for eating alone, and with all that meat on top you definitely get your protein. 😆
Highly recommended as a nourishing meal when the heat drains your energy like it does these days! The rice is generous too, so you'll be happily full by the end. If you're looking for a hearty lunch near Gangnam-gu Office Station, definitely give it a try 😋
