After looking around one suit shop that day, we were both starving, so we headed to Cheongdam Kkatsu nearby. We picked it just because it was close to Gangnam-gu Office Station, but honestly, we were both shocked when we saw the thickness and portion of the cutlet that came out. Haha.

Cheongdam Kkatsu really has a great location. It's in the building connected to Gangnam-gu Office Station, and it's right there once you come out of Exit 2, so it's easy to find even on your first visit.

You don't have to walk far outdoors, so it'd be an easy visit even on rainy or cold days. If you drive, you get 1 hour of free parking, just so you know.

The atmosphere, seating, and can you eat alone?

The restaurant had a cute, comfortable vibe. There were tables that were nice for two people, and inside there was also a separate space set up for larger groups eating together.

When we visited, quite a few people were having lunch alone. The atmosphere didn't feel awkward at all for solo dining at a table, so it seemed like a good spot for office workers near Gangnam-gu Office to grab a solo lunch. Being so close to the station also makes it a good pick for anyone who wants to cut down travel time during lunch hour.

First came my boyfriend's double loin cutlet. The moment we saw it, we both went, "Whoa, what's with this thickness?!" Haha. The meat was seriously thick and the portion generous, so we wondered if he could actually finish it… but of course our little chubster finished it.😂 Worried for nothing, as usual.

Thick, but not dry: the loin cutlet

When a pork cutlet is thick, sometimes the inside ends up dry or gets greasy halfway through, right? Cheongdam Kkatsu's loin cutlet had a crispy coating on the outside while the meat inside stayed juicy. I've been watching what I eat lately, so I ordered the mini cold buckwheat noodle cutlet set. With 'mini' in the name, I figured it'd be a light meal, but when it arrived it came with a cutlet too, so the portion was more generous than I expected. Haha.

The cold buckwheat noodles had a refreshing broth and chewy noodles, which paired well with switching back and forth with the crispy cutlet. Compared to eating cutlet nonstop, it refreshed my palate each time, and the combo worked really well.

It's a great choice especially on hot days or when a cutlet alone feels a bit heavy. I ordered it saying I was watching my diet, but I ended up eating my fill anyway. Haha.

Rice and side dishes: refill at the self bar

If you run low on rice or side dishes while eating, you can grab as much as you need from the self bar.

With a big portion menu like the double loin cutlet, you might run out of rice or side dishes first, and it was nice being able to refill without having to call a staff member over.

Having tried both menus together that day, the double loin cutlet suits you if you want a hearty portion, while the cold buckwheat set suits you if you want a bit of everything — cutlet plus cool noodles.
