Gisan Reservoir drive date and Yangju vintage store Second Traders

My husband and I went on a drive date to Yangju :) There's a café I love near Gisan Reservoir, so I was looking for somewhere to pair it with, and Second Traders immediately caught my eye. Here's my vintage shopping review!

How to get to Second Traders in Yangju, and opening hours

Just search Second Traders (457-16 Gisan-ro) on your map app, and there's a well-arranged parking space right in front. Business hours are 11 AM to 6 PM.

Since it's open during daytime hours, it's a great drive-date course to visit any day of the week. Gisan Reservoir, cafés, and several restaurants are all nearby, so I highly recommend pairing them together!

How the unstaffed store works: 9,800 won per item or 69,000 won a bag

Second Traders is unmanned, but the system is really simple.

Option one — every item is ₩9,800. Option two — fill a bag with as much as you want for ₩69,000. Take a look around, see how many pieces you love, then pick whichever option works best, haha.

They also had shopping carts on hand for carrying your clothes around, which made shopping comfortable in every way.

Second Traders vs. vintage shops in Seoul: bigger and more comfortable

I've recently gotten into vintage clothing (partly out of environmental concerns!) and have been visiting Seoul vintage shops one by one, in Mangwon-dong, Seongsu-dong, and so on. But probably because of rent, a lot of those places felt cramped. Second Traders in Yangju though — haha, seriously, this was the biggest, most spacious, most comfortable vintage shop I've seen so far! Yay.

Everything's neatly organized by color, so it's easy to pick according to your taste. My husband and I browsed around happily and found clothes we really liked and grabbed them. Let me show you one by one :)

What we bought: a sweatshirt for my husband, a Uniqlo jacket and an autumn skirt

There's a fitting area near the entrance, so you can try things on and just hang whatever you don't want back on the rack right there!

My husband found comfortable pants with an elastic waistband and a sweatshirt that's perfect for fall. The clothes hanging there were in good condition, so if you try on a bunch you'll definitely find something you like haha. It did feel like there were more women's clothes, but there's plenty for men to buy too!!

I tried on a bunch of things myself, including a skirt that hit just above the knee — (pretty, but the waist didn't quite fit, so I passed).

There was a one-size Uniqlo outer jacket, medium size, and when I tried it on it fit me perfectly...? I silently screamed 'I have to buy this.' No discoloration, no fraying, no flaws — finding a quality piece like that felt amazing, ㅠㅠ! (Gave myself another reason to come back, haha.)

I went back and forth on this skirt, but ended up passing because I wasn't quite happy with the zipper detail. The length and the sturdy fabric were both great though. Hahaha.

My final pick was this skirt! Summer's about to wind down, and this one had a pattern that goes so well with fall and just the right thickness — perfect timing to buy it :) The waist, the pleats, the pattern all worked for me, and being able to get it for ₩9,800 made it even better ^.^

You can pay easily and unmanned at the kiosk by the entrance. Like us, you can buy items at ₩9,800 each, or fill a bag with as much as you want for ₩69,000 — happy dilemma to have!

Why Second Traders fits a Yangju day trip from Seoul

Second Traders :) — a place where I got to grab clothes I loved on a day-trip drive to Yangju. It's right next to Gisan Reservoir, so I highly recommend it as a spot to pair with a date. I already used to visit Gisan Reservoir and Yangju often, so I'll definitely be coming back to Second Traders.
