Where is Dadam Shabu Shabu Wirye Branch?

Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch (다담샤브샤브&월남쌈 위례점) is at 45 Wiryegwangjang-ro, Sujeong-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi, South Korea, G&G Plaza (지앤지프라자) 3rd floor, Unit 305, a 5-minute walk from Namwirye Station. I was looking for a good place near Namwirye Station and ended up at Dadam! It's famous for being the cleanest of the shabu-shabu buffets, so I came with high expectations, and it delivered, haha. How was the lunch wait?

I got there around 12:30 and people were pouring in...! We were lucky and got seated almost right after putting our name down! It's only a 5-minute walk from Namwirye Station, and if you want a shabu-shabu buffet in Wirye, there's a reason this is considered a top spot near Namwirye Station. To skip the wait, I'd recommend booking ahead or coming early!

Time limit, seating and broth choice

You can stay for 2 hours, and there are room-like separated areas, so it's perfect for family gatherings or group get-togethers! The view is nice too... We ordered for 2 adults and picked the classic original broth!

How clean is the self-bar, and what's on it?

The self-bar at Dadam Wirye Branch has mushrooms like shiitake, oyster, pine and enoki, plus vegetables like minari (water dropwort), bean sprouts, napa cabbage, kabocha squash and cabbage. I started by browsing the self-bar, and every time I come I notice I've never seen anything spilled. It's kept so clean, which is why this is my favorite shabu-shabu buffet! The mushroom selection was no joke either. Fragrant mushrooms everywhere! The vegetables are kept fresh, so filling up my plate was fun.

The very fresh vegetables and neatly arranged self-bar are, I think, Dadam's real strength.

Best rice cake pick: cheese rice cake

The rice cake and add-in corner had cheese rice cake, sweet potato rice cake, fried tofu pouches, dumplings and meatballs. I grabbed a bit of everything, and the cheese rice cake was chewy and really good T_T

Beef: chuck and brisket

The meat is kept separately, across from the self-bar, with beef chuck and beef brisket (thin-sliced belly). I took mostly the lean chuck. The brisket is fattier than the chuck, so this time I stuck with the light chuck only! Beef chuck is really good in the broth T_T

First round of ingredients set! I dropped in a pile of vegetables and the rice cakes, and now I'm waiting for the meat flavor to soak in, haha

Wrap ingredients

Dadam also has a wide range of Vietnamese wrap (월남쌈) ingredients: sprouts, pineapple, sausage, carrot, cucumber and more. Really packed! Healthy, tasty, the best.

What about beef chuck, chili peppers and kalguksu noodles together?

I cooked the beef chuck in the original broth, wrapped it in napa cabbage, piled on minced Cheongyang chili (a spicy green chili), and finished with kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) and sujebi. The chuck cooks gently in the broth, and with no greasiness it's mild and tender, the best! Wrapped in cabbage, it's a combo you could eat endlessly.

There's minced Cheongyang chili too, so spicy-food lovers will be thrilled! I piled it on. I also added kalguksu and sujebi noodles and they were so good. I went back for them twice, lol. Making chive kalguksu was fun too! I proudly cleaned out every last add-in at the end.

Dessert and takeout?

For dessert you can pour coffee over ice cream to make affogato or have soft serve. So good, the ice cream tastes like fancy vanilla... 🤍 You can also take an americano to go on your way out.

Would I go back to Dadam Wirye Branch?

If you're looking for a good place near Namwirye Station, I highly recommend Dadam Wirye Branch! More shabu-shabu buffets keep opening, but this one skips the unnecessary sides and focuses on shabu-shabu, so the freshness and taste are always consistent. The clean self-bar is something you can really trust, and keeping the quality up despite being all-you-can-eat is its best point! I hear takeout is available now too, so next time I'll try that >.< 200% going back!
