Where is HOKATSU in Dangha-dong, Geomdan, and what is parking like?
HOKATSU is a katsu restaurant on the ground floor of the shop row by the apartment complexes in Dangha-dong, Geomdan-gu, Incheon. The original post lists the address as 1098-5 Dangha-dong, ground floor, and says it was easy to park in the building or in a nearby side street.
A few days ago my husband and I got off work craving crispy tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) and a hot bowl of ramen broth. I wanted a proper premium katsu with the juices intact, so I looked up a place the Geomdan locals were talking about and we went. It's in the shop row of the Dangha-dong apartment complex, easy to reach, and easy to park, so it was perfect for a dinner stop with my husband.

HOKATSU's atmosphere and the natural honey starter yogurt
The restaurant is small, warm and neatly kept, like a tidy Japanese eatery, and as soon as we ordered, a free starter dessert of honey yogurt came out. The tables were clean and well kept, and the owner and staff greeted us warmly and kindly.
We sat down, finished ordering, and right away they brought out HOKATSU's special homemade starter dessert.

It was the natural honey starter yogurt! They told us it's the homemade yogurt they make themselves for aging the katsu, topped with natural honey and served free to dine-in guests. I took a spoonful and it wasn't overly sweet, just smooth, with a fresh tang that calms the mouth. It gently settles your stomach before the meat and really gets the appetite going, such a thoughtful touch that my mood lifted right from the start.
What is HOKATSU's signature Favorite Katsu (choaekatsu, ₩16,000)?
Favorite Katsu (최애카츠) is HOKATSU's most loved signature dish at ₩16,000, and it lets you have tenderloin katsu and cheese katsu in one serving. After the yogurt had cleansed our palates, our main dishes finally arrived and filled the table. You get the juicy tenderloin katsu and the cheese katsu with its rich, savory flavor together, a really generous combination.

The tenderloin katsu had a faint rosy juiciness. I dabbed on a little wasabi and dipped it in salt, and the meat was so tender it melted in my mouth. There was no gamey smell at all, and it was crispy outside and moist with juices inside. Then I picked up a big piece of cheese katsu and the real cheese stretched on and on. The crunch of the coating and the savory, salty cheese went together so well that I immediately understood why it's the signature dish.
How spicy is the spicy tonkotsu ramen (₩12,900)?
HOKATSU's spicy tonkotsu ramen (hot version) is ₩12,900, a Korean-style spicy ramen marked "Caution: Spicy" on the menu. If you only eat fried food, it can feel a little greasy to Korean tastes, and I was told this ramen was developed by HOKATSU to be hot and punchy enough to cut through that greasiness, so I ordered it without hesitation.
With that "Caution: Spicy" warning, I carefully took a sip of the broth. Wow... behind the deep, savory tonkotsu (pork bone) broth, a sharp, fiery heat pops, and it really tasted like a hangover cure!

Eating the smoky chashu (braised pork slices), crunchy bean sprouts and chewy noodles soaked in the broth washed away the richness of the katsu, so the pairing was simply perfect. If you like spicy broth, you'll definitely be satisfied with this kick.
When two people want more: 2 pieces of loin katsu (₩4,500) and a mini curry (₩4,000)
At HOKATSU you can add 2 pieces of loin katsu (₩4,500) and a mini curry (₩4,000) as separate items. Just katsu and ramen for two felt a little short, so we added both as sides, and that extra order was a stroke of genius.
The 2 pieces of loin katsu (₩4,500) are a great add-on when one dish isn't enough, and the savory fat layer and lean meat of the loin had a wonderfully hearty bite.

The mini curry (₩4,000) had a rich, deep Japanese curry flavor, great stirred into plain rice, and dipping a crispy piece of loin katsu into the thick curry sauce doubled the savoriness. Happiness for ₩4,000, no question.

Tips for enjoying HOKATSU
- Location and parking: It's in the ground-floor shop row in Dangha-dong, Geomdan, Incheon, and parking in the side streets or at the building is easy, so it's comfortable to eat there.
- Recommended combo: I strongly recommend Favorite Katsu (₩16,000), which gives you tenderloin and cheese together, with the spicy tonkotsu ramen for extra kick, and the mini curry.
- Starter: Soothe your mouth before the meal with the free starter yogurt, homemade and made with natural honey.
Verdict: how was it as an after-work dinner for a couple?
Dinner at HOKATSU with my husband was more careful and satisfying than I expected. The gentle homemade honey yogurt starter was already touching, and the tenderloin-and-cheese Favorite Katsu with its unmatched crispy-moist texture, the fiery spicy tonkotsu ramen and the rich mini curry all showed the owner's hand and skill. The food quality is great, and it's tidy rather than chaotic, so it was ideal for a hearty meal and quiet conversation with my husband after work.

If you're near Geomdan's Dangha-dong looking for properly premium tonkatsu that's crispy outside and juicy inside, or a ramen place with a good fiery kick, definitely stop by HOKATSU on the ground floor in Dangha-dong! It'll be a lovely meal. Strongly recommended.
