Dongchuwon Bulgogi (동추원불고기) is a Korean restaurant in Hagik-dong, Michuhol-gu, Incheon, specializing in old-style hanwoo (Korean beef) bulgogi. For a weekend lunch, a family of six and their 19-month-old sat in the toddler-friendly seating and ordered 6 portions of old-style hanwoo bulgogi at ₩25,000 each, 2 fire-grilled squid at ₩12,900 each and a ₩2,000 kids' meal. With its roomy toddler seating and dedicated kids' meal, Dongchuwon Bulgogi was a satisfying choice for a family gathering with a young child.

Wolmun-ri, Namyangju Korean BBQ lunch with a baby: 2002 Witch's

2002 Witch's Arpeggio is a tomato-sauce pork belly restaurant in Wolmun-ri, Wabu-eup, Namyangju, Gyeonggi. Five of us, including Mom, my sister, my brother and a 15-month-old baby, came for lunch and ordered the level-1 jar cheese tomato pork belly, a potato pancake (gamja-jeon) and a pollock roe cauldron fried rice. The large parking lot and baby-friendly dishes made the meal easy. 2002 Witch's Arpeggio is a very satisfying family drive-out spot near Seoul for anyone with a young baby.

Baby-friendly Namyangju river café, Yogurt Delight: Waltz & Dr. Mahn

Waltz and Dr. Mahn is a large red-brick café with North Han River views on Bukhangang-ro in Joan-myeon, Namyangju, Gyeonggi. A mom in her 30s visited Waltz and Dr. Mahn with her 15-month-old baby and her younger brother and ordered a blueberry Yogurt Delight for 16,000 won, an orange fruit juice for 15,000 won and a red velvet cheesecake for 9,000 won. With a big parking lot, roomy seating and staff who looked out for the baby, Waltz and Dr. Mahn made for a relaxing, baby-friendly outing.

Level 4 spicy monkfish stew in Cheongna, Incheon: Haemul Teukbyeolsi

Haemul Teukbyeolsi Cheongna Direct Branch (해물특별시 청라직영점) is a seafood restaurant in Cheongna-dong, Incheon, that serves handmade seafood kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) alongside boneless monkfish stew (agu-jjim). The writer and a coworker had the seafood kalguksu and boneless monkfish stew set (₩16,000 per person, minimum 2 people) at spice level 4, added flat dumplings and finished with fried rice. Even for someone who regularly eats Yupdduk (Yeopgi Tteokbokki) Original, level 4 was numbingly hot. The verdict on Haemul Teukbyeolsi Cheongna Direct Branch: order level 4 for real fire, or level 3 for a pleasant kick.

Geomdan katsu after work: Favorite Katsu & spicy ramen, HOKATSU

HOKATSU is a katsu (breaded cutlet) restaurant on the shop row in Dangha-dong, Geomdan, Incheon. After work, the writer and her husband started with free natural-honey yogurt at HOKATSU. They then had the signature Favorite Katsu (16,000 won) and the hot spicy tonkotsu ramen (12,900 won), adding 2 pieces of loin katsu and a mini curry as sides. HOKATSU is a good, quiet spot for crispy katsu paired with fiery ramen.

Weekend Hongdae Korean BBQ with my husband, aged meat set: Gogikkun

Gogikkun Gim Chunbae Hongdae Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant serving refrigerator-aged meat on the 3rd floor of a building on Hongdae's main strip in Seogyo-dong, Mapo, Seoul. On a weekend outing in Seoul, the writer and her husband sat in a partitioned booth and ordered the Hanwoo/Handon set for two (₩118,000), kkakttukbap (diced-radish kimchi rice) and half-and-half naengmyeon (cold noodles). Because the staff grilled all the meat for them, they could focus on their conversation. Gogikkun Gim Chunbae is a good fit for couples who want a private, relaxed Korean BBQ meal in Hongdae.

Gimpo Italian restaurant with a toddler: mushroom cream risotto, Polia

Restaurant Polia Gimpo Unyang Branch is an Italian restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building near Modam Park in Unyang-dong, Gimpo. On a Saturday lunch with her husband and 19-month-old baby, the writer ordered the homemade ricotta salad (21,900 won), seafood tomato pasta (22,500 won), mushroom cream risotto (18,900 won) and orange ade (6,500 won), and got a free lemonade through a Naver review event. Restaurant Polia brought a baby chair and baby tableware right away and has dishes to share with a little one, making it an easy weekend meal out with a toddler.
