Misa Station izakaya with salmon sashimi and Haruto maki: Haruto

In short

Haruto is an izakaya on Misagangbyeon-jungang-ro near Misa Station in Hanam, Gyeonggi. Salmon sashimi and the signature Haruto maki came with the complimentary starter snacks for a dinner-and-drinks night, the sashimi soft and clean and the maki layering several ingredients into a different kind of bite. Haruto stays cozy rather than noisy, which makes it an easy pick for a date or a drink with friends.

Visiting in the evening, I saw both people there for a proper meal and people there just for a light drink. If you're looking for somewhere near Misa Station to handle both food and drinks in one place, this seemed like a good option.

What is the atmosphere like inside Haruto?

The inside of Haruto was clean and cozy overall.

Rather than feeling like a loud, rowdy bar, it had that distinct Japanese izakaya vibe, which made it feel well suited to an evening date or a drink with friends.

The order: salmon sashimi and Haruto maki

After sitting down and looking over the menu, we ended up ordering salmon sashimi and Haruto maki. I like salmon in general, and since Haruto maki has the restaurant's own name in it, I was curious what kind of dish it would be, so we ordered both together.

Oh, the basic side dishes were delicious haha

After a short wait, our order came out one dish at a time. First up, the salmon sashimi!

How the salmon sashimi tasted at Haruto

The salmon was plated in a really appetizing way. Freshness and texture matter most with sashimi, and this time I could really taste the soft, savory flavor unique to salmon — it was delicious. It was great piece by piece, and pairing it with the sides that came alongside made it a good match for drinks too. If you're a salmon lover like me, I think you'd enjoy this without any complaints.

What is Haruto maki (the signature roll)?

And the second dish was the Haruto maki!

Given the name, it felt like it had to be Haruto's signature dish, so I was curious, and it turned out more generously portioned than expected. The appeal of maki (rolled sushi) is being able to taste several ingredients at once.

One bite in, all the different ingredients came together for a completely different feel from the sashimi. If we'd only ordered the salmon sashimi, it might have felt a bit lacking, but ordering the maki alongside it gave the meal more variety. It was especially good for eating slowly over drinks.

Do salmon sashimi and Haruto maki work as one order?

This time we ordered both the salmon sashimi and the Haruto maki, and since each had its own distinct charm, I felt glad we'd ordered both. On days you're craving raw fish, go for the salmon sashimi, and if you want something with a wider mix of ingredients, ordering the Haruto maki alongside it seems like a good idea too.

Overall, it was a satisfying visit where I could enjoy a meal and drinks together in a clean, tidy setting. There are so many izakayas in Misa, Hanam, but Haruto is the kind of place that would come to mind whenever I'm craving sashimi or maki near Misa Station. If you're looking for an izakaya near Misa Station, this menu and atmosphere might be worth checking out.

It's a fine choice for a casual drink with a friend, and the atmosphere isn't too heavy for a dinner date either, so it seems like a good spot for various occasions.
