Misa Lake Park terrace izakaya with abalone offal pasta: Haruto

I'd walked past it so many times, and I finally had time to visit Haruto, an izakaya near Misa Station! It's a great spot for a Misa date — good food and a nice place to have a drink, so I wanted to share it.

Inside Haruto: antique interior and jazz-style decor

Haruto is an izakaya on Misagangbyeon-jungang-ro that stands out for its antique interior layered over the warmth of a Japanese-style izakaya. It was the first time I really felt the charm of the place.

The jazzy little props and the music that plays along with them fit the mood perfectly — such a great date spot, haha.

Terrace seats facing Misa Lake Park

Haruto sits right in front of Misa Lake Park, so you can enjoy the green scenery outdoors too! It's cooling down these days once the sun sets, so sitting on the terrace is perfect haha, and since the lake park is right there, the view is amazing haha.

Sunset weather has been cool and nice for walking lately, so a stroll around the lake park, a delicious dinner at the lovely Haruto, then another loop around the lake park — that's the perfect date course.

It's not just for dates either — it works well for a special dinner gathering too, so I'd recommend it as a group spot!

Motsunabe with udon noodles: spicy Japanese beef intestine hot pot

Haruto, the izakaya near Misa Station, is known for its motsunabe (Japanese offal hot pot) as another best-seller, so I was curious. It came out quickly after ordering, which was nice too.

When I ordered the motsunabe I also got udon noodles to go with it.

Motsunabe is a dish I only want to eat at places that do it well. A spicy Japanese-style beef intestine hot pot made with homemade broth and chili paste! The ingredients balanced so well that it wasn't greasy at all — an even tastier motsunabe.

Haruto's best dish: abalone offal pasta

And apparently people order the abalone offal pasta a lot when they come to Haruto? It's a best-seller and I was curious, so I ordered it. This pasta looked great and tasted great too — Haruto really is a solid izakaya near Misa Station haha. We hadn't had dinner beforehand and made it into our date meal, so these dishes were filling enough to be a full meal.

Pasta made with a rich, thick abalone offal sauce... this is the No. 1 dish I want to tell everyone to try when they come to Haruto! It's so rich and deep in flavor you wonder just how much abalone offal went into it.

There was plenty of sauce too, so we ate the abalone offal pasta so happily! My boyfriend and I kept saying how good it was, haha.

Having a soup dish alongside made for a much better combination — we enjoyed the motsunabe too, adding udon noodles in to make it even more filling.

This abalone offal pasta was better than what you'd get at a regular Western restaurant! The squid and abalone were cooked just right too — not chewy at all, soft with great texture.

There was so much sauce with the abalone offal pasta that we added extra bread. Dipping the bread in that sauce was seriously delicious — it makes a perfect drinking snack too. Order one of these and pair it with a good drink, and it's a complete meal, I'd say.

What to drink with it, and the sashimi to try next time

After ordering the abalone offal pasta and motsunabe at Haruto, I understood exactly why they're the best-sellers. When the food's this good, beer just comes to mind naturally haha. On top of that, the sashimi made fresh with seasonal ingredients is also a popular menu item, so I'm planning to come back for that next time! Looking at reviews, it seems like almost every dish here is delicious haha. It's both a great spot for drinking snacks and has an appealing drink lineup, so if you enjoy pairing good food with drinks, this is an izakaya near Misa Station I'd recommend without hesitation. The snacks here aren't simple or thrown together — they're made with care, which is exactly why I want to recommend Haruto, this izakaya in Misa!

Is Haruto good for dates, groups, or drinking alone?

Haruto wasn't just a place to have a meal — it was a space that made for a good memory. It's more than perfect for a date with someone you love, and I'd also recommend it as a spot for family or friend gatherings haha. Oh! There are quite a few regulars who come here for solo drinking too. That probably just goes to show how good the food and atmosphere are, right?
