Brick Rouge, a brunch café in Paju

The weather last weekend was sooo nice. Staying home felt like a waste, so my husband and I decided to drive out to Paju, and while looking for a brunch café I found Brick Rouge (브릭루즈), a big bakery café near Paju Book City. In person, the size alone is something, and the atmosphere is charming too. Let me show you around! 🥰

How do you find Brick Rouge in Paju, and where do you park?

Brick Rouge is a four-story red brick building, so you can spot it from far away, and the sign says BRICK ROUGE ROOF TOP in big letters, which makes it easy to find. 🚗 I recommend coming by car! There are lots in front of and behind the café, plus a second parking lot, so there's plenty of room.

There were really a lot of cars in the lot when we visited. It must be a popular weekend brunch spot. 😎

What is the inside of Brick Rouge like?

Inside, the high ceilings make the already large space feel even more open. Maybe thanks to the elegant interior, the whole place felt comfortable and relaxed.

Kind of like a hotel lounge? It put me in a good mood. 😊 It also reminded me of our dating days, when we used to hunt for places with a nice vibe. 🤣

What breads are in Brick Rouge's 1st-floor bakery?

On one side of the 1st floor, there's a wide range of baked goods on display: sliced bread, salt bread, pies, baguettes, and roll cakes that make great gifts. The variety is pretty impressive. Bread lovers will find it hard to walk past. You come for brunch and end up with an armful of bread. 😆

What's in the Meat Big Brunch set, and how much is it?

On the 1st floor there's a kiosk and a big menu board, so it's easy to look over the menu and order. For my meat-loving husband, we went with the Meat Big Brunch set!

🥩 The Meat Big Brunch SET comes with sausage, garlic butter shrimp, chicken thigh, pork neck steak, French fries, an egg bun, grilled pineapple, and salad! Meat, shrimp, vegetables and sides, all well covered. Two Americanos are included too, for ₩42,000! Pretty generous for two people, right?

Kiosk ordering, pickup and paying for bakery items at Brick Rouge

The pickup spot for your food is separate, on the opposite side. There's a kiosk at the pickup counter too, so you can use that when you order. Just note that bakery items can't be ordered by kiosk; you pay for them directly at the counter!

Next to the pickup counter there were pickles, ketchup, cutlery, and small plates. Cutlery and plates are also set up on every floor, so you don't need to haul them upstairs from the start. Grab them when you need them, which is handy!

How do the floors at Brick Rouge differ?

Brick Rouge, the Paju brunch café, is decorated with a different mood and concept on each floor, from the 1st floor up to the PH (penthouse) floor. The 1st floor is for ordering, pickup, and the bakery. There are tables too, so you can enjoy bread or a drink right there!

The 2nd floor has a small garden and an open terrace. With that wide-open terrace, it looks great for enjoying the view on a nice day. And on one side, the bakery kitchen!

The 3rd floor has an outdoor rooftop area and a floor seating area. You can sit back and relax in the floor seating, or get some fresh air outside, so you can pick whichever suits you! The 3rd-floor floor seating was also run as a kids' care zone.

The PH floor is a space for watching the sunset. Going up around dusk and sipping a coffee while the sky turns red sounds so romantic. Next time I'd like to time it right and watch the sunset slowly. ☕

How big was the Meat Big Brunch at the 3rd-floor floor tables?

This day we settled into the 3rd-floor floor seating. Probably because there are floor tables and baby chairs, lots of families came with little ones. From toddlers wobbling along to babies crawling around! I think it's the first time I've been in one space with so many babies. 😆

Ta-da! Our Meat Big Brunch set (Meat Big Brunch + 2 Americanos) has finally arrived. Wow, is this real? I was shocked by how much food was piled on the plate.

The plate looks bigger than a large pizza, or is that just me...? Inside the huge plate were all kinds of meat, plus salad and grilled mushrooms.

There was plenty of the meat my husband loves and plenty of the sides I love, so we were both happy! A good set for a couple with different tastes! 😋

It was so much food that I thought we could eat it until dinner. Since it had been a while since we'd had a relaxed brunch, we didn't rush and ate slowly. It's really nice to enjoy this kind of unhurried time with my husband on a weekend. ☕

The pork neck steak and grilled mushrooms

My meat-loving husband went straight for the meat, of course! He dipped it lightly in the special steak sauce and said you should use just a little sauce to taste the meat better.

I'm a veggie lover, so I started with the grilled mushrooms. Wow, they were totally my thing! Olive aroma plus peppery flavor, exactly the style I usually enjoy. I love this kind of taste, and these won me over! ❤

Why we moved to a low floor table

The tables on each floor have their own concepts and are charming, but personally I liked the floor seating more. It felt like I could sit comfortably and read a book or do sudoku. 😂 So we first sat at a regular table in the floor seating area, then moved to a floor table before long.

An open-faced mini burger made with the egg bun

I made my own burger for my husband! I stacked shrimp, pork neck, grilled mushrooms, pineapple and more on the egg bun to make an open mini burger. I was proud of how prettily I'd arranged it. But when it came time to eat, he took everything apart and ate each piece separately. Ugh... 😦

A cold iced Americano and a well-stocked brunch! We enjoyed it and had a relaxed weekend together for the first time in a while. ☕

Is Brick Rouge a good date spot for couples in Paju?

A weekend brunch café date with my husband, plus a drive, at long last! With perfect weather too, it was an especially satisfying weekend.
