Pangyo brunch restaurant: pesto salad a basil hater loved, Andover
In short
Andover is an American home-style brunch restaurant on Baekhyeon-dong Café Street in Pangyo, Seongnam, which moved here after running for many years in Cheongju. Over a weekend lunch, a couple ordered the fresh basil salad (24,000 won), shrimp bisque pasta (26,000 won) and mushroom cream risotto (22,000 won), and even the husband, who dislikes basil, said Andover's homemade basil pesto salad was delicious. With well-executed food and a pleasant atmosphere, Andover is worth a return visit for a date or a family brunch.

Where is Andover in Baekhyeon-dong, Pangyo, and what are the hours?
Andover is a brunch restaurant at 10-7 Pangyoyeok-ro 10beon-gil, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi, South Korea (1st floor), on Baekhyeon-dong Café Street in Pangyo. It is open 11:30–22:00 on weekdays (break 15:30–17:00) and 11:30–22:00 on weekends (no break). For parking, I'd recommend the public car park at Baekhyeon-dong Café Street.
These days my husband and I head to Baekhyeon-dong Café Street in Pangyo every weekend for a walk and brunch. Someone told us a new brunch place had opened, so off we dashed again! The food, the vibe, everything was satisfying, so we'll definitely go back!

If you're looking for a great brunch place in Pangyo, here it is on Baekhyeon-dong Café Street: 'Andover' 🧡

Andover parking and terrace seating
The storefront already had such a great vibe! You can park in front of the restaurant, but it's tight, so I recommend using a nearby public car park.

There are also terrace seats outside, like this. I'd been thinking it would be nice to have a spot in the neighborhood to enjoy wine or brunch outdoors, and Andover seemed just right.
We visited at weekend lunchtime and it was already packed with people eating.

What is the atmosphere like inside Andover?
I heard Andover ran for a long time in Cheongju before recently moving to Baekhyeon-dong, Pangyo.

Black-toned interiors and warm lighting come together, so it felt like an American brunch restaurant.

The place is fairly spacious with lots of tables, so I thought it would work for dates, family brunches and get-togethers too.
Homemade groceries for sale at Andover
What impressed me most at Andover is that they sell groceries they make themselves. You can buy fresh basil pesto, ragù sauce, jambon (ham), meatballs and other things actually used in the restaurant! Seeing that, you can feel the owner's sincerity about food, and it made me even more excited.

Andover menu and prices: what two of us ordered
The menu isn't on paper; you check it and order by QR code, which was neat and convenient. There's a wide range of brunch and Western dishes: salads, pasta, lasagna, risotto and more. The two of us ordered these.
- Fresh basil salad - ₩24,000
- Shrimp bisque pasta - ₩26,000
- Mushroom cream risotto - ₩22,000

Fresh basil salad: how does Andover's homemade basil pesto taste?
The Andover fresh basil salad (₩24,000) came out first, and it's my number one pick. Wow... honestly, doesn't it pass on looks alone?!

Crisply toasted bread came prettily plated with homemade basil pesto, burrata cheese, arugula and tomato marinade.

Spread the basil pesto all over the bread, top it with burrata, marinade and arugula, and one bite fills your whole mouth with freshness!!!

The basil pesto they make themselves was especially delicious! It's a bit drier than store-bought pesto, but that actually lets the basil's own aroma and flavor come through strongly, and it goes so well with the burrata. Seriously,, I'm going to buy the pesto to take home next time. My husband doesn't like basil either, but he said this one was so good!

A friendly owner and homemade pickles
The other dishes came out one after another, and each time the owner explained the dish and checked in on how it tasted. Honestly.. the owner of Andover was so kind, and I loved that.

Oh, they also prepared these homemade pickles for us. The jalapeños are spicy and the cucumbers crunchy, great to nibble on when things start feeling a little rich.

Shrimp bisque pasta: should you order it spicy?
I asked for the Andover shrimp bisque pasta (₩26,000) spicy, and it went down easily without feeling heavy, so I recommend a slightly spicy version. I usually like a little heat.

It's a dish with whole shrimp and garlic stems (maneuljjong) in a long-simmered bisque sauce, and from the first bite I understood why it's popular!

The deep, rich shrimp flavor typical of bisque sauce was really good. Add some heat and you can keep eating without it feeling heavy! I recommend getting it slightly spicy 🧡

The whole shrimp are big and plump, and dipped deep into the bisque sauce they taste nutty and delicious. The portion is generous and tasty, so I think it would go well with wine too.

Is Andover's mushroom cream risotto too rich?
The Andover mushroom cream risotto (₩22,000) is piled generously with mushrooms, with well-roasted mushrooms and arugula on top.

Even though it's a cream risotto, it isn't too salty or heavy, just a clean taste.

The mushrooms are big too, and browned on the outside so they have a lovely chewy texture.
Would I go back to Andover for brunch in Pangyo?
If you're looking for a good brunch place in Pangyo, I totally recommend Andover!! The food was high quality, and the homemade sauces and ingredients were fresh and so delicious. The atmosphere is great too, so it passes easily as a spot for get-togethers and dates. Next time I plan to bring my mom for a weekend brunch :)
