Gojan-dong dinner for two in Ansan: all-meat fajita, The Taco Booth

Jishu and I finally got dinner together after a while. We both suddenly got a taco craving and found this Ansan spot — The Taco Booth Ansan Gojan Branch.

We were actually supposed to meet the week before, but it turned out this place is closed on Wednesdays, so we pushed the whole plan back a week. Lol, that's how serious we are about tacos.

The Taco Booth Ansan Gojan Branch: hours and parking

The Taco Booth Ansan Gojan Branch is on the 1st floor at 56 Gwangdeokseo-ro, Danwon-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, open Mon, Tue, Thu–Sun 11:30–22:00. It's closed every Wednesday, with a break time from 14:30–16:30 and last order at 21:00.

The exterior: neon signs and steel with an American diner feel

Even from a distance, this taco place gives off a shiny, straight-out-of-Mexico vibe. The neon and steel interior already had me excited! The menu items drawn on the sign out front made me curious too.

Inside The Taco Booth: the self-serve bar and solo dining

The interior inside was great too! The place was really clean.

There were maybe 9-12 tables, plus some seats facing outward for eating alone. It seemed like single seats would be totally comfortable, so solo diners could probably sit and eat without any pressure. We were seated toward the back, at two tables pushed together.

The self-serve bar had utensils, cups, napkins, wet wipes, and Tabasco~ The plates were disposable. Actually a nice touch~ Plus there was even a spot to wash your hands nearby, which was great since eating tacos tends to get your hands messy. And then—

—there were even disposable gloves stocked there!!! With so much filling, utensils alone can be awkward, so this kind of detail really helps. Made eating much more comfortable.

The menu and the all-meat fajita platter at 49,500 won

We could see the menu on the kiosk, but there was also a menu tucked into each table, so it was easy to browse. Plates, tacos, salads, poke, burritos, and more were all on offer. We thought about ordering single items, but we were so hungry and wanted to try a bit of everything, so we ordered the platter!

Beef, pork, chicken, shrimp — all kinds of meat plus garnishes! Fried corn and 10 tortillas come alongside. Various sauces, cilantro, and lime also come with it, and we basically demolished the guacamole.

Asparagus and shrimp guacamole, cherry tomatoes and beef, lime and everything else — it's fun to pick whatever ingredients you want and build your own. I really can't handle spicy food, and maybe that's why the chicken was spicier than I expected. Jishu, who came with me, said 'what's even spicy about this?' but... haha, it was a bit much for me, so I grabbed two cups of water. If you're good with spice, you'd probably enjoy it even more!

Anyway~ we built one taco each, and the tortillas turned out to be bigger than expected, so we cut them in half! After finishing all the tortillas, there was still meat left, so we thought maybe we were a bit short and ordered more tortillas...

But after really just 2 more tortillas, we were super super super full. Next time I'll either eat the leftover meat on its own without adding more tortillas, or just pile everything in generously from the start.

How it tasted: 50,000 won for two, is it good value?

This was my first time eating tacos in Ansan, and I feel like I found a clean, delicious taco place! First off, the meat had absolutely no off smell. Very satisfying because of that!

I was a little disappointed there was no lamb, but the plump shrimp, spicy chicken, and tender beef and pork more than made up for it! Being able to try so much variety was great. And this whole thing came to around 50,000 won for two, so my friend and I were very happy about that. Great value.

I'd also like to come back and order individual tacos à la carte instead of the platter next time. There are a lot of offices nearby, so it seems perfect for lunch too, both in portion size and distance.

And the interior was hip enough that it made you want to crack open a beer right there — the drinks menu even had whiskeys and highballs I'd never seen before! Don Julio Reposado? I'd genuinely never heard that name before and was really curious. I wanted a draft beer so badly, but I'd driven, so... next time!

One small downside was that parking felt a bit tricky at first. But there turned out to be more parking spots around than I expected, so we didn't actually have trouble finding a spot. Total recommend for this Ansan taco spot!!
