Yangsimso Ansan Gojan Branch is a charcoal-grilled pork galbi (marinated pork rib) restaurant in Gojan-dong, near Ansan Jungang Station in Gyeonggi. On a first visit, a couple with their child ordered the house-marinated galbi naengmyeon set for two and then added one more single serving of pork ribs after falling for the flavor. The cold noodles at Yangsimso were good enough to turn a longtime mul-naengmyeon fan into a bibim-naengmyeon convert.

Yun Ujae Shabu Kalguksu Gogidong Branch is a shabu-kalguksu (beef hot pot with knife-cut noodles) restaurant on Gogi-ro 173beon-gil in Suji, Yongin, Gyeonggi. Dining with a baby, the writer ordered the mild white broth with kalguksu noodles, crispy seafood pajeon (seafood scallion pancake) and a baby rice bowl priced the same as a regular bowl, and was won over by the utensils served soaking in hot water and the self-serve seokbakji (cubed radish kimchi) bar.
