Yangsimso near Ansan Jungang Station: easy parking, easy first visit

I was craving pork ribs, so I went to Yangsimso, a well-known BBQ spot near Jungang Station. Parking near the station is usually a war zone, but Yangsimso has basement parking in the building, so I didn't have to worry about it at all — parked and ran straight up for the pork rib feast. It's located in the building right across from Gojan Police Substation and Fire Station 119!

Can you bring a baby to Yangsimso? Private room and baby chairs

The vibe at this Gojan-dong BBQ spot is insane — spacious but classy, with a private room that's perfect. They even have baby chairs ready, so it's great to bring a baby along. It's a good hall for group work dinners too, and a good spot to book the room for a family celebration. This Jungang Station BBQ place really has it all.

The self-serve side dish bar: shiitake mushroom wasabi steals the show

At this Gojan-dong BBQ spot, if you want more of any side dish, you just use the self-serve bar :) And honestly, every single side dish here is delicious, haha.

Shredded scallions, scallion kimchi, and shiitake mushroom wasabi are the real stars! I love shiitake wasabi, and it was genuinely so good — the kind of side dish you could drink a whole bottle of soju with by itself. The pickled chili peppers were great too, honestly everything was great. It was our first time at Yangsimso as a couple, and we came back completely won over. My husband was already scheming about bringing his friends next time, haha.

Marinated galbi naengmyeon set for two, plus one extra pork rib serving

My husband's father used to run a galbi restaurant, so he's serious about ribs. Even before we started grilling, he was raving that these were the real deal, then immediately called his dad to gush about Yangsimso!

We ordered two of the marinated pork rib naengmyeon sets, fell for the real deal pork ribs, and ended up ordering an extra single serving on top. Ordering is easy with the tablet menu on the table. Grilling pork ribs over charcoal in the middle of the day — this is happiness.

Even our son, who's not a big meat eater, ate this up happily at this Gojan-dong BBQ spot. The seasoning isn't harsh at all, it just melts in your mouth.

Grilling it with garlic makes it even better. Now I'm wondering how good the beef must be at this Ansan restaurant — next time I'm going all in on beef! Please let there be nobody in Gojan-dong who hasn't tried the meat at Yangsimso yet.

From mul-naengmyeon to bibim naengmyeon: the cold noodles at Yangsimso

That morning I'd been going on and on about wanting refreshing, delicious naengmyeon (cold noodles) — not the bad kind, the good kind. And wow, I officially declare this Gojan-dong BBQ spot a naengmyeon destination too. I've been team water-naengmyeon my whole life without question, but after trying Yangsimso's naengmyeon, the bibim (spicy mixed) version is so much better here that I might be switching sides. I started with water naengmyeon, asked for extra chili paste to spice it up, but couldn't stop thinking about the bibim flavor, so I shamelessly asked my husband to swap bowls and ended up eating his entire bibim naengmyeon at this Gojan-dong spot. Sorry, honey.

T_T look at the color on those pork ribs, there's no way they could taste bad. Honestly, this is a flavor I don't think I'd ever get tired of eating every day — even wrapped in lettuce, the Yangsimso pork rib flavor still comes through strong.

Free ice cream and sausages from the Naver receipt review event

Thanks to a Naver receipt review event, we also got ice cream and sausages as a free extra. And they let you do the review event per person too — that's generous. They even gave us two sausages! Our kid absolutely loved them. And need I say more, the ice cream at this Gojan-dong BBQ spot was also delicious — none of that cheap ice cream taste. Great service, great meat quality, great flavor — I can confidently call this an Ansan pork rib destination! If you come to Yangsimso, definitely order the bibim naengmyeon — my husband was shocked too, calling it the best naengmyeon in Ansan.
