Today I'm sharing a place I newly discovered near Daeyeon Station. From the name you'd think it's just an udon shop, but when I went, it turned out you can enjoy everything from udon to tonkatsu, soba, set meals, and even dishes that go great with a drink.
It's Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch (미식가의 우동 대연직영점).
Where is Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch, and is it okay for solo dining?
Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch is at 227 Suyeong-ro, 1st floor, Nam-gu, Busan, right in front of Exit 6 of Daeyeon Station, so it's really easy to get to. The atmosphere felt comfortable for eating alone, too.
Lots of people are looking for a Daeyeon Station lunch spot these days, and lots are looking for somewhere to grab a quick drink after work. Misikga-ui Udon covers both, so I really liked it.
Actually, someone was handing out this flyer in front of the shop on my way there. The grill and shabu-shabu place they run together on the 2nd floor has a good-looking menu too, but since I'd had grilled meat yesterday, I went for the udon shop to keep things light! (The catch: I did not eat light at all 🤣)
Can you order alcohol at lunch? What's the atmosphere like?
I heard that Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch lets you order alcohol at lunchtime too. Good news for anyone who loves daytime drinking!
Inside, it was clean, with an interior that had a subtle Japanese-restaurant feel. There were people eating alone, friends dining together, and people already enjoying a drink in the daytime, so the mood was relaxed.
The tables were stocked with pink salt, shichimi (Japanese seven-spice powder), katsu sauce, vitamin candies and more.
What's on the menu at Misikga-ui Udon?
Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch has hot udon, of course, plus bukkake udon (udon with concentrated broth poured over), soba, tonkatsu and even hamburg steak, so it's easy to match everyone's tastes whoever you come with. The udon selection was really varied too. This time I ordered the yakiniku set and the jumbo set.
Yakiniku set: meat grilled piece by piece in butter
First, the yakiniku set! The meat is tender and you grill it piece by piece in butter, so how could it not be good, haha. The portion of meat was more generous than I expected, which made it very satisfying as a meal.
The side dishes that come with it were neat too, and the rice just disappeared, so I could see why it's a popular menu item.
Jumbo set: tonkatsu and soba, plus a taste of curry
And then the jumbo set! It's really hearty, just like the name says. The tonkatsu came out crispy and juicy inside. The coating wasn't too thick, so it didn't feel greasy, and with the sauce I kept reaching for another piece.
When it gets a bit heavy, a swipe of soba cleans it up! The amount was way more than I expected, haha, so no, I definitely didn't eat light. There was even a little curry on the side as a taster.
How much are drinks at Misikga-ui Udon?
At Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch, 🍺 draft beer and soju are just ₩1,990! The drink prices were what stood out most here. Considering today's prices, it's a shocking number.
It's easy on the wallet for a casual drink with your meal, and it looks great for meeting a friend after work and drinking over a single side dish. Draft beer and soju at ₩1,990 is a huge plus!! It's not just a place to eat; I could enjoy it as a Daeyeon-dong izakaya (Japanese pub) too.
Older customers came in and ordered plenty of drinks, too. And since they find the kiosk ordering hard, the staff took their orders in person! They were so kind 👍🏻👍🏻
And so the two of us cleaned our plates again today! Next time we plan to try the shabu-shabu on the 2nd floor!

Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch satisfied me not just with udon but with the set meal and tonkatsu too. These days I look for places that do a variety of dishes well rather than just one, and this was exactly that kind of place.
It's good when you want a filling lunch, and the prices make it easy to have a casual drink after work, so I think I'll visit often. I think it will satisfy anyone looking for a Daeyeon-dong lunch spot or a Daeyeon Station tonkatsu place, and people who love udon and soba.
If you want a tasty meal plus a good-value drink, give Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch a visit. Next time I plan to try the bukkake udon and zaru soba (cold soba on a tray) 😊
