What is Gim Geumja Sutbul Galbi Daeyeon Branch like?
Gim Geumja Sutbul Galbi Daeyeon Branch (김금자숯불갈비 대연점) is a charcoal galbi restaurant in Daeyeon-dong, Busan, where you can eat domestic pork galbi for ₩3,800 per 100g. The value is incredible! Maybe that's why, when we went on a weekend, lots of families were out for a meal, and I got the feeling it's a popular spot for company dinners on weekdays too!
We're a couple who really love pork galbi, and it had been a while, so we went for some! The prices are low, so even stuffing yourself is cheap!
What are the hours and parking?
Gim Geumja Sutbul Galbi Daeyeon Branch is open Mon–Fri 16:00–01:00 and Sat–Sun 11:30–01:00, with last order at 00:00. There's no parking lot of its own! The nearby Nam-gu Office parking lot is close.

When should you go to avoid the weekend wait?
We went at 5pm on a weekend, and when we came out there was a wait,, If you go early on weekends, you can skip the line!
Most of the customers were groups of older folks and families! It felt like everyone who lives in Daeyeon-dong was there!

Just the fact that they wrote down the things to keep in mind makes me think people like this should be running restaurants! A celebrity has been here too, it seems!

What are the menu, prices and table setting fee?
At Gim Geumja Sutbul Galbi Daeyeon Branch you order on the tablet at your table~

The prices are seriously cheap~ It looks like they no longer sell the grilled pig's feet (jokbal-gui)~ The bone soup is ₩1,000 per order, so definitely get it! Because the meat is so cheap, there's a ₩1,500 per person table setting fee!

How much is the 800g marinated and pork neck galbi set?
We ordered the set of 400g marinated galbi and 400g pork neck galbi! It's 800g for ₩37,400. Can you believe it?!

If you need more side dishes, use the self-bar. The vegetables were really fresh too!

How was the marinated galbi, and the muksabal side dish?
Marinated galbi on the left, pork neck galbi on the right. The portion is seriously big! Marinated galbi goes on the grill first, sizzle sizzle! I liked that they also gave us basic vegetables! I can hardly believe this quality at this price, it's honestly the best value in Daeyeon-dong!

While my fiancé grilled, I cleansed my palate with the muksabal (chilled acorn jelly in cold broth) that comes as a side dish! The broth seems like naengmyeon (cold noodle) broth, and it was tangy and delicious! The cold noodles here are probably good too!

If you like pork galbi, definitely go to Gim Geumja! You might burst from the meat alone!

Tips for grilling marinated galbi
You can adjust the heat, so turn it down if it's too strong as you grill~ It's marinated, so it burns easily, careful~ Grill it nicely and cut it into bite-size pieces~ My fiancé loves grilling meat, so even at places that grill for you, he ends up doing it all, which I love haha

Ahh, looking at the photos, warning: I want to eat it again 😭

I like eating it with raw garlic, but the pajeori (spicy scallion salad) here is delicious too, so it's perfect with the pajeori and pickled onions as well!

How is the pork neck galbi different from the marinated galbi?
Next up, pork neck galbi! It was more tender than the marinated galbi! They cut it into bite-size pieces for you~

Thank you to my fiancé, who always grills for me~

It goes really well with perilla leaf wraps too! You can even put 2–3 pieces of pork galbi in one wrap! Because it's really cheap, you can just order more!
How were the ₩1,000 bone soup and beef-belly doenjang rice pot?
So many customers kept coming in that we ordered our meal while grilling the pork neck galbi! My fiancé got the bone soup and I got the beef-belly doenjang rice pot (usamgyeop doenjang sulbap)! The doenjang rice pot is a bit spicy!
Look at the amount of bone soup, and that's the ₩1,000 one! The value is crazy!!! And the beef-belly doenjang rice pot is packed with rice, tofu, beef belly, mushrooms and more, so the broth is rich and spicy, perfect with drinks! haha

Definitely order the bone soup! The meat is tender and soft, so it's perfect as a meal for kids! It isn't spicy, so you could order rice and a fried egg and give it to the little ones!

What do you get from the review event?
If you join the review event at Gim Geumja Sutbul Galbi, they give you either jjondeugi (chewy dried rice-cake sticks) or jwipo (dried filefish), and we picked jwipo! Definitely order the jwipo! Grilled over charcoal it's seriously so good!

They give you 3 pieces, so definitely join the review event~
