Minrak-dong, Busan café with picture-window seats: chestnut tiramisu

After lunch with a friend, it felt like a waste to just say goodbye — I wanted a light coffee and some dessert too. While looking for a nice-looking café near the restaurant, I found Café Buajang and decided to stop by.

It sits in an alley in Minrak-dong, and from the start the exterior caught my eye — it looked less like a typical café and more like a pretty space with a small garden. The interior also uses wood and plants for a warm, cozy atmosphere, so it seemed like a good pick for anyone looking for a Gwangalli date spot.

Above all, it was raining that day, and the quiet mood that rain brings to a café made it perfect for resting a while with coffee and dessert.

A garden-like café hidden in a Minrak-dong alley

At first glance it felt more like a pretty greenhouse or flower shop than a café, haha. The plants blend so well with the exterior walls and flower beds that it's a pretty sight even if you're just walking past.

There's also a spot near the entrance styled like a mini garden. It's not a huge garden, but seeing plants before you even step inside really sets the mood. This is exactly the kind of place I'd recommend to anyone looking for a good-vibe café near Gwangalli.

The sign is also pretty cute, haha. It's made of wood with lighting built in, and it has a bit of a bathhouse-sign feel to it.

The standing sign outside even says "we do coffee" along with a bathhouse symbol. It's a café, so why the bathhouse concept? But little details like this are actually kind of charming (and it was even funnier because there's an actual bathhouse right next to the café, hahaha).

It's open daily from 11:00 to 21:00. According to the signage, about 4–5 cars can park in front of the café, but I'd recommend calling ahead to check availability before you visit. (The owner personally told me where to park, so it was easy for me!)

Inside Café Buajang: cozy from the first step

The moment I opened the door, what struck me was how much higher the ceilings and how much bigger the space felt than I expected. Plants are placed here and there, blending with the wood interior, giving it a bit of a greenhouse feel. Overall it's bright and airy without feeling too cold, making it comfortable to just sit and relax.

On one side there were these cute little knickknacks. I couldn't tell for sure if they were for sale, but small touches like these seem to shape the café's overall mood.

Even the hallway leading further inside wasn't left empty — it's decorated nicely with antique-feeling pieces.

The mood near the entrance and the inner space felt a little different too. The inner area feels a bit more cozy and comfortable. There were more seats than I expected, so it looked like a good spot to chat over coffee with a friend or just spend some relaxed time.

An open kitchen where you can watch the coffee being made

The kitchen is open, so you can watch the drinks being made right in front of you. The café overall has a cute, homey feel, but the kitchen itself was neatly organized.

There was also refreshing iced lemon water set out on one side. It's nice to have a glass before your coffee, or to cleanse your palate while eating dessert.

The picture-window seat that's even better in the rain

It happened to be raining fairly hard that day. Raindrops clung to the flowers and trees visible through the picture window, and watching them while sipping coffee inside had a certain mood of its own.

Personally, I thought weather like this actually makes it worth settling in for a long stay as part of a Gwangalli date course. It has a different charm than the flashy sea-view cafés nearby.

Chestnut tiramisu worth calling one of Busan's best

What we ordered that day was chestnut tiramisu, an iced caffe latte, and an iced americano. Since we'd just had lunch, I wanted something light to go with coffee rather than a heavy dessert, and the chestnut tiramisu caught my eye, so I gave it a try.

First of all, the visual is adorable, haha. It's not just plopped onto a plate — the plating is pretty, so it made for good photos too.

And more importantly, the taste! You get that nutty, subtly sweet flavor unique to chestnut, and the tiramisu itself had a wonderfully fluffy texture. Paired with the coffee, the combination worked really well. Personally, tiramisu that's too sweet loses me after a few spoonfuls, but eating this alongside coffee, I just kept going, haha.

The iced caffe latte came out clean and simple too. A bite of chestnut tiramisu followed by a sip of latte kept that nutty flavor going — they matched really well.

The iced americano was also a reliably good match for dessert. My friend enjoyed the chestnut tiramisu quite a lot too. We'd planned to eat it slowly over coffee, but it disappeared faster than expected, haha. Good enough that I'd recommend it to anyone hunting for a great tiramisu spot in Busan.

Looking for a quiet café near Gwangalli Beach?

Café Buajang feels quite different from the big cafés along Gwangalli's main beach. Tucked in a Minrak-dong alley, it's quiet, and the space blending plants with wood interiors made it a calm place to enjoy coffee and dessert.

It works well as a stop after lunch, and it's a good place to chat over coffee and dessert too. Above all, visiting on a rainy day like this one, with plants and the sound of rain through the picture window, made for a really nice atmosphere. On a date it would feel even more romantic, haha. I went with a friend, but this café would suit a Gwangalli date course even better.
